This from that well known right wing publication Politico:
https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/10/01/puerto-ricos-tragedy-was-years-in-the-making-215662
From the article, hardly abstaining Trump but also reminding us that we really don't know what is going on and making the "by this administration" somehow seem incomplete and perhaps a little partisan even.
"We would feel more comforted by the federal governmentâs assurances if it had done moreâdone anything at all, reallyâto prevent this catastrophe. Because while Washington, D.C., couldnât stop Maria in its tracks, its treatment of Puerto Ricans as second class citizens is what upgraded this hurricane from natural disaster to human tragedy.
In 2015, Congress imposed a fiscal control board on Puerto Rico in order to pay down our debt. President Barack Obama signed the legislation into law a year later, taking away the financial autonomy of our island and placing it in the hands of seven bureaucrats, three of whom arenât even Puerto Rican."

Wait, what?!?! You're paying $650/person/month in premiums? That's insane. Are you in an area with only a few insurance companies? I'd be a Debbie Downer if I had to pay that much for coverage.
Sh&*t, virtually everyone I know pays that much or more. I saw a string in FB today where someone was complaining about their ridiculous premiums and how they could not afford them and on down the line everyone was posting what they pay and I am telling you it is scary out there. Fortunately my insurance is reasonable at around 400 a month, but the deductible and coverage sucks. Single payer; full on free market, what difference does it make at these costs?? Seriously here are just some of the long list of circumstances that real people are paying: "Our lil family of 4 is 1800/mo" "My family insurance is just above $1,200 a month. I have an out of pocket deductible of $7,500 and our regular doctor has ditched the insurance system so we pay out of pocket to see him. It is a crazy system." "I'm so so so thankful that I just got a state job! Our insurance will actually be affordable!! Through the marketplace this year it would be $1000 a month for my little 3 person family with a 10k deductible!" "my husband is the only one of us to have health insurance. and that's only because his boss worked it into his salary instead of giving him a raise. It would cost us almost $1000 each month to add the munchkin and myself to his plan. We just can't do that. The pediatrician charges $75 for 'global' self pay. Includes any and all tests needed, only extras are x-rays. A self pay visit for me is $95. We applied through the government for assistance, and were denied, so we don't have to pay the tax fine for not carrying insurance we cannot afford. — also I want to add that prior to Obamacare, we were paying out of pocket for health insurance for all 3 of us, and it was under $450 per month for a reasonable plan. Same plan is over $1500 now." "My husband and I pay $1400/month just for the two of us." "We stopped at one kid so we can still afford cool shit for ourselves. Selfish as hell but I'm sure my kid is pretty happy getting all kinda shit and all the attention. My husband's insurance through his company is free for him but for me and my daughter it's close to $300 a week we're forced to pay because you can't just not have insurance anymore." "We can't afford insurance so we just don't have it. I'm lucky I have healthy kids. Knock on wood" "Same here. The insurance i could afford wouldnt cover my doctor or medication . .. So after doing the math(i pay about 800 annually cash ) there was no insurance that came close to saving us anything it was either premiums were more than that and add in deductible so i would have to pay twice. Our farm insurance and business insurance covers accidental injury. So... I would actually be paying 3x the amount i am already paying in cash. And. It just didnt work out." And it goes on and on and on......... yep its absolute craziness. We are squeezed because we are not quite destitute yet to qualify for the subsidy and not rich enough to afford out of pocket insurance at 1300 a month. Thanks for rolling back the regulation to have it in the first place, Trump. Now we get no healthy people paying into the plan and the premiums go nowhere but up.
