The Filmore West only held 3000 people. Go to smaller venues today and you can often get that same Artist/Crowd interaction. The 930 Club in DC is a good example.

It's not just Aretha, it's the whole band and the audience as well that make this an outstanding experience. Hard not to like it...
Today if you go to these big concerts they feel soulless in comparison. They are events streamlined to make you happy for the evening but don't last long.
