Somehow I recall his name from 70s jazz radio in the 70s. Maybe he had a DJ spot.
Edit I consulted the interwebs and found this
"in 1981 hosted jazz radio programs for NPR (including the Peabody Award-winning Jazz Alive series) ". Which means I heard him on my local Tacoma WA NPR station KPLU in the 90s.
Related: Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz on NPR was a great program which ran from 1978 until 2010, just a few years before she died at age 95.

But for me, here's the thing about jazz. When you pack so many extra notes in there, sometimes the thread gets lost. It was almost a minute into this piece before I realized it wasn't "Wade In the Water." And as I listened through the whole thing, "Wade" kept appearing.

(and I have nooo idea why my text just yelled that out.) 🫤

Love this music. Bill, how much do we have to raise to have a Jazz channel?

His album art photo makes me think he's just enjoyed a nice cup of Earl Grey, hot.
Particularly his nostrils.
If you're interested in all genres of jazz there's www.jazzradio.com to dabble with when not streaming here on Radioparadise. I alternate between the two and am a paid subscriber to both sites. I favor the Guitar Jazz feature on jazzradio.com when not here at RP.
Apologies to RP for mentioning another streaming site.
Folk Alley is good, too, if you lean in that direction.

Yeah, that would be great!

Cold winter Saturday morning. Sitting by the fire enjoying a nice cup of coffee. Then this very nice piece comes on. Bliss!
Not so cold morning here but perfect timing!
