Try playing this after "Wittgenstein's Arm" by Neal Halstead ...

Bill, we need an "Alternative "Country" or "Americana" station. You successfully led me back to my rural roots and the country sounds I grew up with in rural Texas. I had left this way behind in favor of the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, etc. I shunned this music for years and rediscovered via a Californian (!) that country wasn't just Garth Brooks and other assorted main stream crap. Love Jason Isbell, Lucinda Williams, Chris Stapleton, and the list goes on and on.

The melody on this reminds me strongly of Carsie Blanton's American Kid, which is a great song btw.

This is nice. I loved Southeastern. I'll have to check out this new one.
The documentary about Jason on HBOMax is quite fascinating. Quite the drinking man he was, but always the superb songwriter.
Always a great show if you get the chance.
A very good album all the way around. His band sounds great and his lyrics are once again riveting. Check out the song “King of Oklahoma” from this album. I hope to hear it on RP!
This guy is amazingly connected to his emotions...and it clearly shows in the type and style of his songwriting. It just always sounds authentic....
New Jason Isbell
I'll put this in the playlist as an 8.
