Wine is sweet and gin is bitter
Drink while you can but you won't forget her
You talk too much, you laugh too loud
You see her face in every crowd
That's the price of love, the price of love
The debt you pay with tears and pain
The price of love, the price of love
It costs you more when you're to blame
Kiss one girl, kiss another
Kiss 'em all but you won't recover
You're dancin' slow, you're dancin' fast
You're happy now but that won't last
That's the price of love, the price of love
The debt you pay with tears and pain
The price of love, the price of love
It costs you more when you're to blame

Folk music Robert Plant is not my favorite, to me he does better when it's dreamy synth rock productions, but he still knocks it out of the park with whatever he does. Not sure about Sea Of Love though.

$70 for a lawn seat at Wolf Trap a month ago. For 2 legends like this it would have been a steal at twice the price. An amazing show.
I've seen them perform together at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass ages ago. I've seen Plant solo too. When they tour together their ticket prices are astronomical thus keeping me from attending.

Allison is my wife in the alternate perfect universe. And yes, dammit, it is out there.
Alison Krause is the vocalist.
The RP artist only has Robert Plant, but this recording is usually credited to both Plant and Alison Krauss
I bought the Everly's version mid 60's and still love it, indeed I still have it :)
It was an EP with 3 other tracks:
That'll Be The Day
Gone Gone Gone - which they wrote and Robert has covered
It Only Costs A Dime - which they wrote

Robert Plant pushes forward and tries different styles of music, always good to hear!
These *girl/guy gone* songs are so rife that it makes this one stand out like it they're supposed to, you hear? It really sucks.... (love lost, not the musician/song you fanzine defenders😉)

While you did say "possibly" you might want to do a little research for saying such things. Go to YouTube and look for Wings of Pegasus Alison Krauss ... and select the video "Alison Kraus is THE gold standard in pitch control".
Though possibly ""auto-tuned"" a fantastic interpretatation of the old song, by very talented singers, though they are at least a generation apart. Respect for R.P. I like this work better than in his young years with L.Z. (with exceptions). P.C.

Wow, talk about a song that cuts a little too close to the bone. There are tears and pain that don't seem to go away, and no, I won't forget her. Would I do it again? Yes.
Oy.
Here's a nice rockin' version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU2Kz7dwOlg

Alison Kraus should be in the photo.

Alison Krause has become a regular in Mrs.RPlistener's playlist...and always leads to some good things...thanks Bill, RP and Alison...weeee!
unfortunately Robert is autotuned to the point of me saying his contribution is unnecessary… Allison is always haunting

No, I wouldn't have guessed that either.
I remember the Roxy Music version, too....

Good vibe to this track, must hear more from this album!

You know what? I wish the songwriters were listed for all of the tracks played on RP. I think that would be fascinating in a lot of cases.
Bill?? Pretty please?? :)
Any idea who writes the songs?

pretty ballad but try her "I Lie Awake" for a beautiful one

Huh. Probably the one and only time I knew something about music that Bill didn't -- and now he knows too! Dangit! (How 'bout we play some Everly Bros. once in a while?)

Enjoy the Krauss/Plant collaborations and Allison's sweet vocals just melt my heart with "The Price of Love". Starting at 8 but may revise upward...
Listen to the music. The answer is there. This album has been a long time coming.
Really liking this new album... Another one to buy!!

Dude, count you blessings! You saw them on a beautiful evening, in a spectacular setting, for free at possibly the best outdoor music festival! I was there too, and it remains an everlasting memory.
