Ooh, I need your love, babe
Guess you know it's true
Hope you need my love, babe
Just like I need you

Hold me, love me
Hold me, love me
I ain't got nothin' but love, babe
Eight days a week

Love you every day, girl
Always on my mind
One thing I can say, girl
Love you all the time

Hold me, love me
Hold me, love me
I ain't got nothin' but love, girl
Eight days a week

Eight days a week
I love you
Eight days a week
Is not enough to show I care

Ooh, I need your love, babe
Yes, you know it's true
Hope you need my love, babe
Just like I need you

Oh, hold me, love me
Hold me, love me
I ain't got nothin' but love, babe

I was 9yrs old when this came out, and I bought the 45!!
GODLIKE!!! ICONIC!!!
Overplayed so much for so long I had to just avoid most Beatles songs for many years. Now, with better quality source and playback gear, and more understanding of what I appreciate in music, I can once again enjoy the great skill in writing, performing, and producing these albums represent. Taking nothing away from the boys I think that the contributions of producer George Martin have a lot to do with elevating them to another level. Yes, even on a simple little pop song like this one.
Who would have thought - these guys, with this track would give us Sgt Pepper, Abbey Road and dozens of other great tracks to enjoy forever!
Catchy tune, melodic bass line, splashy drums/cymbals, great vocals and harmony, sing along lyrics,  upbeat and fun, brilliant 1960's Rickenbacker sound.

What's not to like?
Eternals
Great segue Bill!

Fun exciting times they were...wow!
Somewhere in de '70s we went on holidays to France by car. My father just had installed a radioplayer with a cassetteplayer, which was a novelty at the time. My elder brothers recorded tapes to take on vacation but they forgot to take them with them so the only tape we had during the holidays was the one in the cassetteplayer in the car: for about 3 weeks we repeatedly heard the songs from that tape (twice 30 or 45 minutes, I think) being The Beatles. Therefor many Beatlessongs remind me of that vacation and for a long time I believed The Beatles were French...
Happy 80th Birthday, Ringo!

Oasis has no connection to the Beatles at all

Apart from being an even closer imitation than The  Jam were?

It wasn't on that album but who cares, it's still The Beatles
Beatles: Godlike forever.
Catchy bubblegum pop. This band missed their calling back in the day when that was popular.
I think their songwriting improved somewhat compared with this?

This is one of the least special of all the Beatles songs, IMO. Obviously, it's plenty catchy but it lacks the sonic twists and unexpected details that make their stuff the pinnacle of modern music.

Agreed.  And I ain't got nothin' but love, babe, doesn't quite gel when it comes from the land of Bill Shakespeare.  And that hand clap rhythm was wearing out its welcome, even from the Fabs.  Still, it's f-u-n.

yes, second that!

Dunno about that, I think the Sitar at least ties em together., lol.

I remember Liam claimed to be John Lennon reincarnated,  even though he was 8 when John was murdered.

any Beatles song works anytime...{#Dancingbanana_2}
The perfect sing-along happy pop song. Always loved it.
Grandpa, come listen, they're playing your music on the internet!

Grandpa: Internet? What's that?

Wrong number of days in the week. Downvoted.

I am amazed that after 50 years this still sounds fresh
this is a great album too Harrison plays some great rock-a-billy to Lennon's songs
Nice
Fun memories of listening. But it's not one of my fav Fab 4 tunes. Simple beat — but that bass is a fine thing — and they sure mangle "ain't got nothin' but love, girl" English
{#Cool}
nice!

I agree.  And I have been changing the station of using the PSD button every time I hear Beatles

We could go further and use the PSD every time we hear a song influenced by the Beatles.

But then you'd basically be listening to FOXNews.
Sounds corny now but it sure was cool back then.

Cool song, but a bit overplayed, isn't it?

Nope. One play in 30 days is severely under-played.

No. Just no. Extreme twaddle.
Everybody in my alien space craft loves this song...  time flies when we're having fun...
Maybe not one of their very stellar best. Ain't got nothin' is not exactly Shakespeare. And that hand clap track. Hold me love me. Well, OK, if you're 18.  Still, that bass line. Lennon singing like he means it. The harmonics and rhythm. And sing along perfection. I'm going along, 8 times a week.
Cool song, but a bit overplayed, isn't it?

Please do so and let us enjoy them :)
