When the sky is falling from above you
And the wind is raging from the coast
And you want someone who truly loves you
I will be the one who loves you the most

When the masquerade and burlesqued balls
Become too ordinary to boast
You complain about the parade and curtain calls
I will be the one who loves you the most
Yeah, I will be the one who loves you the most

When the women with their stolen graces
Don't invite you to play host
To their daughters with fake faces
I will be the one who loves you the most

When all the debutantes desert you
And all the doorways are all closed
And the harlequins have hurt you
I will be the one who loves you the most
I will be the one who loves you the most

When your suitors sneering swank beside you
And leave you hollow like a ghost
And you just want somebody to confide to
I will be the one who loves you the most
I will be the one who loves you the most

See, when you forgive your imperfections
And you've auctioned all your clothes
And look to see your true reflection
You will be the one who loves you the most
You will be the one who loves you the most
You will be the one who loves you the most

When your mother sends back all your invitations
And your father to your sister he explains
That you’re tired of yourself and all of your creations

Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?
Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?

Now when all of the flower ladies want back what they have lent you
And the smell of their roses does not remain
And all of your children start to resent you

Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?
Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?

Now when all the clowns that you have commissioned
Have died in battle or in vain
And you’re sick of all this repetition

Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?
Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?

Oh, when all of your advisers heave their plastic
At your feet to convince you of your pain
Trying to prove that your conclusions should be more drastic

Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?
Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?

Now when all of the bandits that you turned your other cheek to
All lay down their bandanas and complain
And you want somebody ya' don’t have to speak to

Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?
Aw, won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?

Good lyrics - and Brett is wearing me down. I might be beginning to like his style.
Thanks, RP, I think, maybe...

eh, what's that you say...this guy sounds like Amy,,pffft!

where did this come from? {#Hearteyes}
Sounds too much like his Ain't No Reason, which was okay for a short while, but grew old soon. (I think it's him.)

He's got a unique twist of phrase and an engaging style. I like it.
gak gak gak wtf makeitstoppleasemakeitstop!!!!!!!! is being able to SING a prerequisite?

forgive the language but holy shit this is PAINFUL.
Clever lyrics—cute punchline.

My ears, my ears!!!!!!

Took me nearly three seconds to get to the mute button!
It took me a while but I really like his sound now, ...but then I also like Fever Ray.

Perhaps because it sounds like amateur hour?

I don't agree.  It's well recorded, well produced and is more original than most of the 'professional' stuff I hear on the top 40 stations.  Still doesn't do anything for me, but having been exposed to real amateurs on a regular basis, I can't complain about Brett.

Sounds like Amy Winehouse

How many albums does someone have to release before they're not an amateur anymore?  I'm not super keen on it, but I think he's made enough of a commitment to this career to avoid being called an amateur...

7 for Brett, 8 for Slim...

I didn't think it was all that bad.  The sentiment of the chorus reached me.
