I love this video with Noodle dancing and the Big Head signing. Fun!

The Big Head is Shaun Ryder, and the name of the song is Dare due to how the Manchester legend (Shaun) pronounced the word There.
I love this video with Noodle dancing and the Big Head signing. Fun!
Great to hear this on RP (again). One of their best tracks IMHO.

That might be more interesting.
It took me a while to figure out that what's being said was "it's there" (or in this case "it's dare"). I originally thought he was just counting 1, 2 in Japanese--ichi ni

What does a baby polar bear scratching records have to do with pedophiles? This COMMENT is heinous, maybe that's the connection. BTW Bill...I loved that transition from Coming Up for Air to the "It's comin up, it's comin up, it's comin up..." of Dare.
Goddamn! This is good. I like it A LOT, the only song by Gorillaz what I am digging. Thanks RP!

Add roverfish to that list, too, please. I just about capped my knee running for my Razr that wasn't ringing. Decent tune from Mr. Albarn and company.

I thought maybe it was Marvin Gaye meets the Tom Tom Club. I'm not real nutz about the outcome of the meeting.

I first wasn't into the gorillaz to much. Then I saw their videos and think they are amazing. What great animation and concepts for videos.
i can't hear this without imagining Noodle bopping around her room with the headphones on (and shaun ryder's head coming up on the lift )...
funky.
Agreed. I am obviously NOT in that mood right now. honeygirl wrote:

Top song

Thought this was Iffy. Local Minneapolis band.
Can't stand the thumping...
Grooovy.

I second that motion!
Gorillaz is Damon Albarn (blur frontman) and guests. Listen to the (self-titled) first album. It had better guests, in my opinion. Helchat wrote:

Hearing this...we need the Scissor Sisters again. This is decent, anyway.
A generous 2. These guys are talentless. Believe too much in their own hype.

excellent!!!
Disco garbage
Very cool to play this: 1.Björk :"I miss you" 2.Tricky :"Excess" 3.Gorillaz:"Dare" You're the best Bill Barcelona,Spain

Is that Shaun Ryder from of Happy Mondays/Black Grape fame. -Adrian
Yes. Who else could make noise (kind of like words) like that and still sound cool.
I like this better then the Gorillaz tune that was played just a little while ago, but I'm still not that crazy about it.
Ugh... what is this? The BeeGees meet MC Hammer? Blech.

Oh, that darn Hip Hop again
freeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
LET'S DANCE!!! ">
Among all the variety, it does not hurt to play a song or two that we have heard other places, as long as they are not overplayed. This, imo, is not. Very enjoyable tune.
Shut up... let's dance!!!!
This is pure, shout-over-it-to-get-the-bartender's-attention music. Not especially innovative, but still kinda fun.
yeah right non-commercial radio station MickMan wrote:

Very lame, bubblegum music...
Yes, just what I needed to hear. About to leave work for the day and then heading to a concert. I'm dancing already!
Very Danceable!
Love this stuff.... good groove
this would be a great hula hooping song.

Got to give it up?
A pimple on the ass of Blur. An annoying pimple at that. Damon Albarn, thanks for breaking up a great band and forming a mediocre one.

Do you mean "Boogie Nights" by Heatwave? "got to keep on dancin', keep on dancin'"?
I'm liking this tune more each time I hear it.
the video to this track is pretty, well, wierd! I like it.
This is the first tune from this album that I like. Maybe it's the Bunnymen or the Hoover that set the scene...
Sorry, my colleagues at work can't help nodding... This guy, Albarn really made it... hide behind cartoons, no interviews, no flashes... just Paradise! (RP follows that same principle?)

Sounds like Basement Jaxx.
I know people who like this band a lot. But something about them being cartoons just doesn't work for me.
I'm one of those people who would never of thought that I'd like this stuff. But for some reason, I do.
For band member details and a fun take on the band see the wiki page : here "Actual Members" further down tells you all about the who is and who is not ;) Oh, and here too ...an even more detailed list ;)
Damn it Bill! I thought my cellphone was ringing, this is my RINGTONE! ...kindly stop playing it forthwith, or at the very least attach a *warning for cagey* ;) Great tune, I heard a funny story from the producer (I think) who said Sean Ryder turned up at the studio and they recorded him doing his stuff which mostly was, urm not really cohearant. However, they noticed later, that when listened back to the recordings at the beginning of the session, during the process of getting his voice level right he said clearly "its comin up, its comin up, its comin up, it's dare..."

I love this stuff! KEWL MAN!!
Tried uploading this song quite a while ago and got rejected. Glad it finally made the cut. Check out the video at Gorillaz.com
Well . . . I'll give it another chance.

I just love this little tune.... I want the album.

Interesting, I never thought that before but since you mention it, I agree! And they both get me moving!!

Not the cartoon band again!!!!!
'Tis a shame. BBC 6 Music's over-rotation and Shaun Ryder's annoying voice was enough to ruin it for me. Has a nice beat too.

The reason I stick with RP is that they love to throw in the electro-funk when I'm not paying attention. Groovy as always!
I LOVE this entire album - this song always makes me dance in my car. People think I'm crazy, but hey -- F 'em.
Discofabulous! Shouldn't Gwen Stefani be singing this?
Probably the worst track on the album. I'd much rather hear El Manana (or whatever it's called, the track that comes after Feel Good).
Annoys me too, perhaps it will grow on me as well. meelifluous wrote:

It pains me that I like this at all, but I can't help it. Points for retro.

Woo hoo! Makes working late much more tolerable. There I go chair dancing again!

Yeeeaaahh...um...no.
