The moment I said it
The moment I opened my mouth
Letting your eyelids
Bulldoze the life out of me
I know what you're thinking
But darling, you're not thinking straight
Sadly, things just happen we can't explain

It's not even light out
But you've somewhere to be
No hesitation
No, I've never seen you like this
And I don't like it, I don't like it
I don't like it at all

Just put back the car keys
Or somebody's gonna get hurt
Who are you calling at this hour?
Sit down, come round, I need you now
We'll work it all out together
We're getting nowhere tonight
Now sleep, I promise it'll all seem better, somehow
In time

It's not even light out
Suddenly, suddenly
Oh, you've somewhere to be
No hesitation
Mmm, I've never seen you like this
You're scaring me, you're scaring me
You're scaring me to death

Don't! oh, (smash...) please
Don't! oh, (And another one) please
Don't! oh, (smash...) please-
Don't! oh, (And another one) please

I'm losing you
Trust me on this one
I've got a bad feeling
Trust me on this one
You're going to throw it all away
With no hesitation
(Smash...)

I LOVE Imogen and her Frou Frou stuff. But this song....not so much....yech
Very beautiful song. A 9 clearly!!
A heap of **** (1).
Ugh - make it stop!  {#Beat}
I like Imogen a lot.  But I hear The Shins almost every time.  Is it just me?
 Just saw this...

Are you sure you're talking about Imogen Heap here? {#Ask}  She and Amy Lee have very little, if anything, in common vocally. Amy has a powerhouse voice, which is, for lack of a better term,  a lot 'thicker' (even in her lighter parts) than Immi's.

But I guess my ears hear differently. *shrugs* To each their own.

Dude I like eclectic when it's actually eclectic. But this was simply an "adult alternative" streak longer than the streak I just cleared out of my daughter's diaper. Quite homogeneous. I can easily get that on my FM. Incidentally my preferred music does come from an AM station: Radio 1190 "The best independent music." Too bad their stream sucks.

she is nice - if you have not already, check out "Le Fil" by Camille (a French artist). Methinks very very good. And damn, I just saw the weirdest looking bird flying off.

Thank you RP for turning me on to Imogen Heap... I heard her here first. What an amazing talent.
Beautiful....
Unique and atmospheric. 8.

What is "new age rock"? Not sure that I've ever heard that, dolphins on electric guitars?
Brilliant songstress...love Immi..NO HESITATION!

I saw her after the show and she's like 6'4...i kind of just stopped in my tracks and grinned stupidly.
She'll be back that way in December. Must have been a decent crowd. Hope to see you there...

What an amazing piece. Wild and wonderful complex mix. Nothing less than a 9
I adore the piano work combined with the vocals!

Precisely what I came here to say. Incredible sound. Most excellent tune.
Who is this, Sarah, or Dido?

I like music of all different sounds, as long as it says something. She calls someone on their bulldozing the life out of her and I can really relate to that, and that's not easily said in this world where people like to flame other people for no transgression at all.

Yes. And I like that the voice is a main thing, and the music itself has left on the background, well kinda...if you know what I mean. ---NEWS! Exactly a month later (5/9) I had to change from 8 to 10. I have been listening this song a lot and I adore it by now...how calm, so sad. I love the purity of the lyrics.
Absolutely brilliant. Will download soon. A 9 for me.
Reminds me of some of the songs on Robert Miles's "23am." I think it's the twinkly piano and the whispery ethereal voice. On the whole, I like it.
I quite like all her music -- could stand to add Just For Now to the playlist...

do you get more cowbell through headphones? damn, I'll have to try that.

Interesting & pretty original. Not the greatest voice - but wouldn't mind hearing more. I gave it an 8!

Dear Tux, please buy your wife a beer from me. Excellent lady. This wouldn't even pass muster as lift music.
This is a great song from a great album!
I think I'm falling in love with this woman! Love her music!
Tux wrote:

Tux please tell your wife that all things considered music has its moments for listening. My Ipod has half Opera and half New age rock. What can we do. We love music no mater where it comes from. I also love Imogen. I listen her to work, like now until dawn, as architects sometimes do. Callas is great for some moments it all depends on the mood and the circumstances. Good luck
Funny that I liked this the first time I heard it but after hearing it a few times it just doesn't do anything for me.

I don't get everyone's infatuation with Ms. Heap. This is not singing, it's more like moaning and sighing. Bleh.
yep. heavy breathing does not constitute singing.
Rates a 1 every time I hear it, which is too often. The leap from low register that is too breathy to a high one that is equally offensive leads me to believe that she has no middle register or transitional ability. Maybe I am just doing a sour-grapes thing. Ignore this if you like it. I might like it next time.
Soooooooo nice.... Now why don't we have "Hide and Seek" on here?

It just came out. Watch that you don't get one of the Sony BMG DRM "copy protected" ones. That's all my CD store has in stock right now...
Wow, I had no idea this album was out there. I have the Frou Frou album, gonna check this one out. Thanks RP.
I thought it was Sarah Mclauchlan all the way. Neat song. 9/10 plus I'm heading for the album right away.
In stark contrast to that Shirley Bassey kitsch, this really has something going on... ...reminds me a bit of Jane Siberry. Good stuff.
I want to like this. I really do. She's a brilliant vocalist and a talented musician, and an earnest writer. But for this song, it's like someone took Tori's and Ani's works, filtered them through a machine that identifies passion, talent, and drive... and mercilessly crushes the resulting hits beneath a mallet consisting of breathless oversynth. I feel the need, the need for ibuprofen.
ooh, nifty little bridge thingy.
I like Imogen, but she's played far too much on this station. If it's not her solo stuff or stuff with Frou Frou, she's guesting on a million and one tracks, even that Jeff Beck song. Thin her out a bit so we don't get tired of her, please!

Woot! More Immy, any time you want, Bill. Has anyone uploaded Hide and Seek from this album? It's my favorite of the bunch...a bit odd, but I think it'd fit the RP format very well.
Hurray to Bill for criticizing the Sony DRM virus!

Wonderful. Thank you RP for bringing this music to me. (And thanks to the uploader too!)

Really cool layering of vocals. She's got a great voice. I'm starting to think that anyone who records with Beck (the good Beck) has an increased coolness factor.
beautiful. this is the first that I have heard from this artist. I am intrigued.

Any relation to Uraih Heap? Okay, lame I know...
Imogen was an early graduate of the BRIT School. The work she recorded for us was superb. Try 'missing you' on https://10.116.36.56/music/Albums/94/94.htm. Her voice and instrument talent was remarkable for her age. Now 10 years on her band Frau frau has had sucess and she recently recorded with Jeff Beck. How such talent has not had commercial sucess is beyond me - Probably because she shuns the PR machine of the biz and is true to her music
Not lyrical... just insipidly dumb.
A good transition would be a little Evanescence. (I don't care if they get played on Pop Hits 99.9, I like 'em.)
Until I found RP, I had never heard of Imogen. Thanks, Bill....she's phenomenal! (She reminds me a bit of Kate Bush...which is a good thing!)

Somewhere out there is a soundtrack just dying for this song. Wow. Most excellent, especially the vocal layering near the end.
