Hello from italy, perujah!
I heard that electroacoustic harp and knew immediately who it was. Immediately put a smile on my face in an otherwise difficult day.
The change from Paul Simon's 'Homeless' to this song was extremely smooth and flawless! I think they're both in the same key, too. If I didn't know better, I'd say they're the same song

I agree with the previous posts on this....I prefer them separate, but then why join the crowd? It\'s different...that doesn\'t mean I like it.
Great to hear Andreas Vollenweider on RP! But I would much rather hear something from him alone. I notice his album "Behind the Gardens-Behind the Wall-Under the Tree" isn't in the music library. That album is so good! I would upload it, but mine isn't in the proper format.
I love Andreas and I love Ladysmith, but I'm sorry to say on first listen I don't like them together. When I was five I couldn't stand mixed vegetables, but I got over it... "may I be excused, please?"
Not feelin' it. Bleh.

Hi Yes I realised too late and couldn't be bothered to go back and edit!!
Man, it has been an African day, it seems. World music mixed in heavily all day long.

I guess you really have to listen to more of her music. You'll discover that this song is not just down to LBM

Imagine my surprise to see this is credited to a Swiss harp player. It's Ladysmith Black Mambazo that steals the song, so to speak. But, seeing as I've lived in both South Africa and Switzerland, I guess I have to like this combination.

Andreas Vollenmweider, now that's someone you won't hear on FM radio! Love his sound. Although it has been 10 or 15 years since I last heard him, I immediately recognized his style. Loved his "Down to the Moon" CD.
ditto that!

Another amazing example of why it is absolutely impossible to listen to commercial radio ever again!!! (Aside from an occasional foray in listener sponsored radio).......Oh wait.....this is listener sponsored. Time to make a contribution. HINT HINT

Did these guys back Paul Simon? Diamonds on the soles of my shoes?
Wayyyyy better than I was expecting when I saw Andreas Votthishammer's name come up on the playlist!

Brilliant! So good it even made me leave the forums and I'm currently heavily addicted. So far I have only heard this go on a compilation a guy gave me once. Ends far too soon. More please!
Wow! I heard this and immediately checked to see WHICH LBM album it was from...NEVER expected to see an Andreas Vollenweider album! Haven't heard him since "Behind the Gardens, Under the Tree" (or whatever it was called) about 20 years ago...I've seen LBM in concert twice. Never would have dreamed they'd be working together! Nice catch!
Oh great, now I want a Cream Saver!
Never cared about Andreas, but have seen Ladysmith in concert and found their concert to be a deeply moving experience -- wasn't ready for that -- far more uplifting and inspiring than I had anticipated.
i'm not a big fan of world music... but i like this!
..........whatatitleandreasvollenweiderwithladysmithblackmambazotakesupallmyspa........
I've been a fan of both AV and LBM, but this collaboration is new to me. Nice!
After this song and the last song, I'm going to need a yoga mat and some green tea to continue listening... I'm not shopping in a carribean gift shop, please make it stop.
I KNEW I heard Andreas Vollenweider in this! Love him. What a great sound and it works so well with Ladysmith. Cool.
Very nice! I've never heard this before but what a great combination!
The word "jabula", which LBM are singing over and over again, is Zulu for "happy", or "we are happy".

Exactly what I was thinking... had to pause from my work and confirm it was Vollenweider... wow... it was 15 years ago when his music last dominated my cassette deck!
never heard this one but I love it. I've seen LBM and they are great! I haven't heard AV in a long time. Thanks!
A V also played with the Swiss "Poesie Und Musik". A formation that put well known poems on music. Very good if you like it. I especially like "Pablo Neruda - Ein Mensch Kam Zur Welt" https://www.paulrecords.com/result.php?sm=t&pt=Poesie+und+Musik&lg=lng_en&d=Artistindex

This is great music, which makes me wonder...why isn't there any other LBM on RP?

Great song! Is this old? It sounds timeless.. ;)
One of Saraswati's favorite fairhaired musicians, Vollenweider often sounds timeless, like he's been playing in the Hall of the Mountain King or for the Queen of the Sidhe for centuries. But this time he's journeyed to Africa and hooked up with the best for a totally different but no less heavenly sound.
Great song! Is this old? It sounds timeless.. ;)
PLEASE Play more LBM - esp. the album with Paul Simon (not Graceland.. go ahead and play all that too! haha)
would love more LBM by themselves too! i was first introduced to them via a spike lee production around (guessing) 1992 called \"do it a capella.\" i have that album on cassette tape, though i\'m sure it is on it\'s last legs as i\'ve played it into the ground. might be worth a look for the RP collection!
This whole album is fantastic. Great selection, Bill! :D :D :D
Gosh, its been over 15 years since I\'ve heard any radio station play Andreas Vollenweider. I recognized his harp style immediately. This ain\'t a bad song.
