Sometimes I get up feeling good but greed gets me down,
I try to think about the highs, the freedom we've found,
When the business in your life don't sit with your soul,
And they treat you like a child they need to control.
The music that we make will heal all our mistakes and lead us,
The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us.
We're all gonna rise above all things that we lack,
Good vibrations that we make will come bouncing back.
The music that we make will heal all our mistakes and lead us,
The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us.
The music that we make will heal all our mistakes and lead us,
The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us.
The music that we make will heal all our mistakes and lead us,
The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us.

i would like to own each piece of furniture on the album cover.
And Sean Connery saunters into view.
i want that hi-fi console.
As exquisite as can be, and super-sexy, to boot. The perfect song to enjoy Orange Herijuana, Blueberry Headband, and tasty Mountain Sun IPAs to! Cheers ~ !
`psyched with Morcheeba
Shoutout Bob Moog
pretty tired of this one

Saw them play live in Bristol uni circa 95/96. Fantastic sound and possibly defined trip-hop along with Tricky and Portishead..
Dope.
ohh yeah...
Another of the great bands that BG has turned me onto.
I love Morcheeba! They make me morchilla...
Good like it

There's a vague resemblance in bits of her vocal line, but I would hardly deem it "a rip-off". It's a different chord progression and this song is in a minor key. We all hear different things, though.
sounds like a rip off of nirvana "heart shaped box"

Still one of my faves.
Too cool.
One of their best, and always capable of lifting the mood UP...dig it: The music that we hear here on RP!

True enough, but they're also explicitly political whereas Morcheeba's lyrics have rarely been contentious. I prefer Thievery Corporation for their eclecticism and agitprop, though Skye's voice is always smooth and pleasant to listen to.
I second the motion for Theivery Corporation. They rock ... well, in a quiet funky way.

I absolutely love Morcheeba!
Some others you might dig are Massive Attack, Portishead, Bajka, Thievery Corporation.
Some others that meet the "slick lounge-kool" but don't have the female vocals are Greyboy—Mastered the Art, The Jones Orchestra, Herbaliser (more on the Hip Hop side), Lobe, Pete Rock—Petestrumentals, Dzihan & Kamien, Omid, Groove Armada, Action Figure Party, Medeski, Martin & Wood. These last ones I file under Hipstrumentazz.
No doubt some other listeners might disagree with such tangentialnesses, but I'm a lumper not a splitter and I dig what I dig!

Quite cool. I could stand to build an entire collection of nothing but slick lounge-kool bands like this with sultry power babe lead vocals; i.e. Shivaree, Venus Hum, Audreys, Zero 7, etc. Any other fitting suggestions?
A little spy-jazz, a little mid-century lounge swank; I love it.
Always like Morcheeba. This song has shades of Edwyn Collins, "A girl like you" – and that IS a good thing...
Morcheeba, awsome as always.
Awesome!!! Play more. SKYE is sultry

Thought this was Corinne Bailey Ray at first
I like this song! :-)
Lesscheeba.
the first album was great! since then everything is so much alike - and sometimes annoying —
Her voice is the definition of Sultry!!

Agreed! Their first 3 albums are great!
Their new one sucks, and is a rip off; they do the same song like 3 different times!
Tiresome, very tiresome
I like the original version better. This one just doesn't sound right to me for some reason.
agree... this one is "overmixed"

I wish they hadn't replaced Skye.
Antidote's good, but it takes some getting used to. And it's just not the same.

Is it?
I've been listening for a while and hadn't heard Morcheeba before...
Just checked the playlist to make sure, and don't see anything...
Anyway, cool laid-back track. :goodvibes:
Is this Morcheeba day?

love it but not digging there new album
Great song! Their albums, however, don't always sound as good!
MMMMMorcheeba... mmm.... ;) I love how her voice perfectly compliments the music to make that Morcheeba sound. Although I prefer the original from their Who Can You Trust? album.
I think this version of this song is sooooo cool. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. The melody, the layers of sounds. Just great.

Couldn't agree with you more! Bought two of their cd's just from listening to them on RP and they are amazing!!! Keep it up!!!
