I spent the day with the band helping to set up for their concert later that evening in the Kent State University gym where I was a student at the time. We got free tickets to the show for helping out. I can still visualize a lot of the parts of the concert after all of this time.

Had no idea at the time how big of a deal this was. I was just finally getting to see them after following them since 1968 when Saucerful Of Secrets was released.

KSU was in the middle of the last leg of a short US tour that was also the end of them playing in small venues. The next tour later on in June 1973 was now in arenas and the like.

Life for all involved had changed drastically.

The rest is history.
