What?

What's that?

Oooooooh, Trump is going to abuse his power, pardon his violent criminal supporters, and put his political rivals and critics in prison?

Huh. First heard for me, I tell you. I had no idea.

I mean, if only there had been some indication Trump would be an unhinged fascist dictator bent on revenge BEFORE the election.

But how could we have known really?

Can you imagine if we'd been given some kind of, any kind of, I dunno, WARNING so this wasn't such a huge shocking surprise. Some indication, expressed or implied. In a perfect world, Trump himself would have just come out and told us. Ha ha, right?
In only, man, if only.

Hey, while I'm wishing for stuff, if only there had been some sort of, I don't know, mass media whose job it was to collect information, analyze it, and report it to the voting public. If only a private enterprise like that had been given specific enumerated rights in our Constitution so there would be, you know, WARNING.

Heck, if only there was some sort of Government Department, perhaps tasked with enforcing the law, like a prosecutor or an attorney for the whole country, with a huge budget and teams of Constitutional law experts, who could have held Trump accountable for his myriad and obvious criminal actions. Can you imagine? If we had something like that? Wouldn't that be helpful? Maybe? I don't know why the Founders never thought of anything like that. It's crazy. I blame Benjamin Washington, or whatever his name was.

If only there was a party, perhaps composed of honorable American conservatives who valued integrity over partisanship and who ha ha, sorry, but I'm just saying if only American voters were such absolutely mo ... LOL I know, I know, too far, too far, Jim, you silly man. Too far. Crazy Hah ha. Never mind.

I'm just saying, if only there was some way we could have known.

But, of course, there wasn't.

No way to know. No, Sir. No way to know.

It's a complicated topic because you'd expect US steel to actually be investing in their company at this point, but they can't be because they are up for sale. I'm sure it looks bad for Biden or Trump if it gets sold, but I always tend to think that there's a reason it's being sold. Strategically it's not a good idea because we give it to Japan, but operationally, where do we go from here? If not, so? At least it's Japan and not Saudi Arabia.

Apparently the sale was pitched as a way for two allies to counterbalance China's strength in steel production.  The Japanese see the deal as a way to beef up  their presence in the US  market, thanks in part to US tariffs on Chinese steel.

But the US govt. and Biden are backing away from the deal because the steel workers' union  is worried the  merger will cause a loss of jobs and reduction in pension agreements. Biden was likely also measuring public reaction to the deal in PA, a swing state.

The New York Times ran a piece on US Steel months ago. One industry analyst said that the company stopped innovating back in 1910.

I'd guess the reason they are for sale, is low cash on hand in a cash intensive business. The offer from Nippon Steel would recapitalize them and let them continue/grow operations in and around PA. This would greatly help the union who would largely reap the rewards if the operations grow. Strategically, how is it bad that Japan gets some control and profit from steel being forged in PA (yes I see the point re: SA, but Japan is an ally, and even if they turned it's not like they can pack the plant up and leave).

They can take solace in knowing they were likely able to also disqualify all 32 transgender athletes in college athletics while they wait for their unemployment checks.

Just wait until summer, when the price of everything is higher from a combination of tariffs and a lack of farm labor.  Maybe they should move to FL and find out what real work looks like.

Pennsylvania steelworkers are feeling a "gut punch" after President-elect Donald Trump said he would block the $14.9 billion sale of U.S. Steel to a Japanese company.

On Monday, Trump reiterated a campaign promise, pledging on Truth Social to block the deal. He wrote: "I am totally against the once great and powerful U.S. Steel being bought by a foreign company, in this case Nippon Steel of Japan.

"Through a series of Tax Incentives and Tariffs, we will make U.S. Steel Strong and Great Again, and it will happen FAST! As President, I will block this deal from happening. Buyer Beware!!!"

Epstein's phone logs show that Trump called a number of times for massage appointments. Epstein had 17 different phone numbers in his records that were related to Trump or Trump's employees.

And Trump was on Epstein's plane 7 or  8 times (including once with then-wife Marla and daughter Tiffany).

Trump posting a AI generated image of his imaginary 100lbs-too-light 50-year-old self at 4000 meters in the Alps, in winter, IN A BUSINESS SUIT, staring at a mountain on the border of Italy and Switzerland, because that's the MATTERHORN, thinking it's CANADA.
