Hey all,

Was having trouble with the OGG links on the new site at https://radioparadise.com/list...

Main Mix links work just fine, but the other streams wouldn't resolve.

What made it odd is that the links I was using on another machine, which I pasted from the old site, work just fine.

Turns out to be an underscore vs. hyphen issue. New links page says Mellow Mix is at mellow_96.ogg or mellow_96m.ogg. Actual links should be mellow-96.ogg and mellow-96m.ogg.

Same appears to me true for Rock and World/Etc mixes.

Hope this helps anyone encountering the same issue.

Thanks for pointing that out,  the typos fixed :D

Thanks William and, again, I LOVE RP. I've been evangelizing RP for the past 20 years and have a lot of friends and family firmly converted (and regularly donating).

I think the part that ahenwood and I are missing A LOT is that the song information page used to sync with Sonos (whether playing one of the streams or Favorites). On the old site we could have RP streaming on Sonos while the RP website was locked on "song info" on our computer so that we could quickly comment / rank / get lost in comments.

It's hard to describe how much I miss that feature.

I'll add one additional to your list as also an avid listener on Sonos systems through my house but while I work, its on a web page streamed on my work machine so I can comment / rank / get lost in comments. One feature I can't seem to find is the ability to "Sync" the desktop stream with my Sonos stream in the house - seems to have been 'lost' in the upgrade.

As always, amazing, amazing platform and community you've created! Long live RP!

I liked the previous UI better. Sometimes, less is more, and there are still people out there who can read. But the slideshow is really a nuisance. I'd much rather see the album's artwork larger, but the constant attention-highjacking is awful. As the saying goes, "If it aint broke, don't fix it." If you really insist on "technically improvements", how about publishing an API, along with some endpoints to talk to?

We are going to add the option of choosing either album art or the slideshow.
Personally, I love it. But I understand how it could be distracting.
I’m not sure when we’ll be able to implement that (we have a LONG to-do list), but it shouldn’t be too long.

So when scrolling through the forum to the bottom of the page we need the instant to the top of the page by clicking the very top of the browser.

JavaScript window.scrollTo() method — passing in 0, 0 will scroll the page to the top left instantly.

window.scrollTo(xCoord, yCoord);

This should work on cross browser 95% of the time else you can modify using jQuery.

Did get to try it on an actual chrome os device and everything seemed to work as expected.    All I can suggest for now is to try  rebooting the device.   And shift refresh the site a few times.

Hi William and team.
I actually have a couple questions/comments for you below... but first, a reintroduction: I'm a longtime listener (20 years at this point) and supporter. My listening has evolved along with you. Started with Winamp/earphone jack-> RCA plugs to stereo receiver and now using Sonos. I use the RP/Sonos streams and keep the website open on my work PC so I can pop-in, rank songs, read comments, see play history, and add more 'favorites'. I had my Chrome homepage set to "radioparadise.com/player/info..." and "tracking" my Sonos player. I loved that the website always showed the "info" page for the song that was playing.

Questions about the new website (as viewed on PC/Chrome browser):
1. Is there any way to make the new "information"  â“˜ page  track along with "Sonos" like the old Info page did? Or can the song currently playing on Sonos only be viewed on the "What's playing" page?
2. I really loved being able to see my rankings (colored hearts) on the playlist on the left side of the old "information" page. I'd love to see that feature come back.
3. I liked how, on the old site, hitting the "Radio Paradise" logo in the upper left corner toggled between the song "information" page and RP homepage. I'd love to see that come back.

I just spent the last hour exploring the new website and I'm looking forward to Radio 2050 later this year...

to your point 2: I think this is a consensus, nearly, that our own ratings should be clear: a number not a color
point 3: me too. If I click to bring up the info, I can't get back to this post. I think it should be a "hit esc key" to go back to where I was.

Would love it if the song comments would stay sorted by "Newest" by default if that's what I chose.

I agree with this too, could you use that space to show the album artwork a bit larger? I've found myself strangely missing that today. Other than that, top work to all involved!

Was listening on my Old Mac today when the stream stopped (9/19/22).  Usually there is a simple announcement, so I hit refresh on the browser and RP wound play again.
But today the screen came back with a pair of headphones (with sound waves coming from both ear pieces) in the center and the unending circle of screen refreshing.  This was in Firefox browser which will not update beyond version 69.0.1 (72 is current version I think).  Safari browser version 11.1.2 (11605.3.8.1) leaves just a blank screen and hasn't worked for sometime for RP, but other websites are working on Safari still.   Did something change today? The Headphone with sound waves pic is now the pic showing rather than the former RP as seen in the upper left hand corner. Switched to the new website format today.   Is there a way I can access an older version and continue using my Old Mac from?

Odd that our most recent 'old' site worked but the new one doesn't. They're based on the same framework. But perhaps we updated something that broke things for old Firefox versions. We'll check.  Our legacy site (the old 'old' site) is still available: https://legacy.radioparadise.com .

The legacy site is working on my legacy Mac.  Thanks Bill.  Sorry I mean William.

Using the legacy site make me appreciate the multitude of improvements since, especially the skip function.

Yes. Music > What’s Playing. Works similarly to the old site. Both the computer and your phone need to either be on the same WiFi net or logged into the same RP account.
