curious to know if you always begin with the same word daily?
i go back and forth. one week i'll use the same word daily, the next week i alternate between 5 i've chosen. i am still unsure as to which strategy works better for me.

We (I play w/ Mrs. Islander) always pick a different word. Most of the 'good' start words are known and I think they stay away from them. For me picking a start word is part of the fun. Every once in a while we'll throw in one with some oddball letters and get a hit.

I play the same word every day. Sometimes is doesn't work, but I can usually solve most puzzles in 3 or 4.
