my rx:

d, take ten mins of breathing/meditation to clear your gray matter
silence phone, grab coffee, snacks and headphones
cue jangle , open a word processor and soak it in, pay close attention to your jangle bone and take a note or two
lightly edit and post notes/review
lather, rinse and repeat if necessary

The Rickenbacker 12 string on the cover was kind of a dead giveaway, but Cpt. Obvious here got the theme right away. My first thought was "Dang, that's a lot of jangle" but there were also an awful lot of new bands to me and I ended up liking this a lot more than I expected.

My favorites were:
The Beatles - Thanks for the reminder of how much I liked this! I hardly ever listen to this era of Beatles. but this is a gem.
Tommy Keene - Well, that was fun! The Byrds meets Rockpile. Strong powerpop vibe.
Hurricane Bells -  Kept expecting to hear Tom Petty on this disc (you know he titled the first disc of his box set "The Big Jangle", right?) and this one had me fooled for a bit.
The Someloves - Good garage band feel.
Ducks Ltd. - Some clever lyrics here.
Shake Some Action - I think this is my favorite cut on the disc. Restrained exuberance, nice thoughtful lyrics.
Young Guy - If you told me this was from 1967 I'd totally believe it.
The Stems and Rain Parade - A little crunchier than the rest. Dug 'em.
The Boxcar Suite - OK, I take it back—this is my favorite.
Sweet Nobody - The jangle thing and a woman's voice is a good combination. Needs to happen more.
massage - Had to go on a Youtube crawl to figure out who this reminded me of: Modern English. Could easily have convinced me it was a b side to I Melt With You.

Outstanding effort!
Thanks for the great review. I'm glad you liked it.
I'm so glad I discovered Tommy Keene a ways back. I love his stuff.  Since he passed away, his catalog continues to increase in price.
Tom will appear in a future reprise set. There's not  a lot of surprises from Tom though.

Thanks you two.
I really struggled with the back label for some reason. Just really ran out of time. I had about three other players of the 12 string to add. So I just ended up with a couple of the originals.
One must note... I used the blue tone of The Byrds "Turn! Turn! Turn!" album cover on that title sleeve.
The Byrd's have been my inspiration since I first heard them way back when I was in grade school.
And I have to give a thank you to Jeff Sheldon's Power Pop show (https://www.podomatic.com/podc...) for turning me on to some of the newer Jangle.

Yeah. Tom Petty was on the list. Actually, I have 474 songs on my "Jangle Master List". It was hard to just narrow it down to 23.
So I will resurrect this subject again later on.

Excellent choice of theme, clever I'd say. Hardest part of the review process was avoiding "reminds me of the Byrds" LOL

Speaking of the Byrds, the Mix wouldn't be complete without them
The Primitives - Jangling guitars and Female vocals go together like Wine and Cheese
Tommy Keene was rocking the 80's vibe.
Fall Back had me swaying in my seat as I drove
"I got it! Lets call our band The Field Mice!"..."Oh man That's IT!" - could have done better with the name, but the tune was good
I liked the visuals Night Train to Munich conjured up. My favorite track on the mix
I wonder if a member of The Stems is descendant of a member of The Seeds?
Cool how Rain Parade put that single Hand Clap in the middle of the tune
King's Ex was a Jolly Good Tune
Suncharms had nice Jangling guitars, I'd catch them live if they showed up in my area

Most enjoyable selections. I'm curious how long you vacillated on the decision to omit any Tom Petty.  Thanks for the hard work, both on the music and the presentation.

it's my time - the someloves
girl in my system - the never never

as usual another fine effort from the mcc crew

edit: i'm currently looking at (or near) the end of this month for my burn
