in the past, when it was the grateful dead, the mail order was not necessarily better seats...but sometimes....sometimes!!!

for example, i scored 5th row center for brent's last show in chicagoland, and 10th row, stage right at the first soldier field show... but it was totally random....and i used to exclusively do the mail order in those days.  mostly, the seats were average to not so great..but all i wanted was to get in the door...

my first show was 1978, too (5/6/78)! my parents made me wait til i was 16!
my last was...the last show, soldier field 7/9/95.
i also saw the Other Ones at least a couple of times, went to the local dates for furthur festival, and i attended the one time only terrapin station: a grateful dead family reunion, up at alpine valley.

it was my brother who turned me on to music in general, but the dead in particular, when i was a kid.
he played american beauty for me when it was released, and that was all she wrote.

yeah, brent was phenomenal, but vinnie grew on me.

but, right now....i think i need to go play "live dead"—-st stephen into the eleven, in particular. yes. yes, i do.

Mine was 7/1/78

I have a ticket stub for 10/28/77
I dont really recall it. All I have is a vague recollection of a "Tennessee Jed" that seemed to last forever!

schlabby got our tickets ordered today. you could ask him how it worked.
i don't know if he bought them on line, or on the phone.
aside from the mail order, and the pre-sale, the on sale date is 1/24, i think.
