Got some vegemite last weekend at Pete's Frootique. Tried it this morning. Doesn't taste great but doesn't taste that bad. I kinda like it, actually. But you're right about using a thin spread. I can see myself acquiring the taste. Next step: toast with vegemite AND cheese.
Lately, I am all about veggies and hummus... Sabra brand is SO good....
i went through a huge exploratory hummus phase
kinda still there
wore out a food processor or two
i got to the point where i'd just get a handful of garlic and toss it in (always the first step for me)
whizz
then herbage if it was to be included (i love cilantro, stems and all)
whizz
peas or beans, peanut butter or tahini, roasted veggies or peppers, salt and pepper to taste, spices, juice a lime or lemon, olive oil and a surprise ingredient/variable (maybe nuts)
let that fly for a minute or until desired texture
grab some celery, carrots, cukes, squash, pita, whatever and dip and slather to your heart's content
enjoy! edit:
i tried quite a few animal proteins, tuna came the closet , but it just never clicked
however, i've made a nice turkey sandwich and put hummus on that and it was delicious

Go all in. PB, cheese, vegemite (though I prefer Marmite for its softer texture). Oh so good!

Since you are such a good bloke, I'll give you a tip: use a really really thin spread of Vegemite. You don't want to slather it on. Trust me.

Sounds close, but I think it is salt to taste, then add another 2 tablespoons. They tried to market a low salt version for a while, but it didn't sell darnit.
are you guys actually going to spend good money on vegemite/marmite?
this sounds like an episode of intervention in the making
but if you must, just make your own
ov's recipe:
1 cup tractor grease 2 beef bullion cubes 2 tbsp dark kayo syrup a dash of weasel extract and wd40 salt to taste

That should be 2 billion beef cubes. also a pinch of cumin. I used to be married to a Mexamerican girl. It's a long story but cumin is important I learned... So is acumen but who's counting...
