Yepâ¦he rode his bicycle all the way to my best friends house and we got hitched in her back yard. I will never forget it as long as I live. I remember every detail. Especially the fact that it almost killed him because we lived up on this huge hill and every road to get there was steep as hell. ð
Itâs the craziest thing ever. A beautiful story. Itâs been about three years now since we ran into each other again. He asked first thing how my family was doing. I told him we were good, but that my dad had cancer. He looked at me and said âmine, tooâ. I think it was perfect timing. Weâve both lost our fathers since and we are still getting each other through it.
For me.... Never forgetting your first kiss, your first love. The backyard pretend wedding officiated by your best friend. That feeling that never fades. It doesn't matter what's going on in your life; you see that boy here and there, (very few) times over the years and there it is again.
37 years later you have a chance meeting, the stars are aligned (or however you want to look at it), you get that second kiss and never look back.

It always makes me tear up a little, that juxtaposition of sincerity and caring and then...obliviousness (?). The filmmakers couldn't have asked for it to be better. Great moment in documentary filmmaking.

Setting up 2 beach chairs on a quiet beach under the canopy of shade palm with a charcuterie board on a table with a chilled beverage of your choice, RP playing on the down low and not a soul to be seen anywhere.
