I and I suspect most of us from time to time provide dialogue for our dogs.  Rosie's dad is really good at it mostly because he's so expressive when he does the dog's lines.  You might appreciate one he did yesterday that knowing Rosie just cracked me up.  Fetch has become a fiercely competitive sport for the big dogs.  Rosie had won a round and was just starting her victory dance when Rocky caught wind of something, switched into hunting mode, and went bounding into the woods with his apprentice in tow.  The poor puppy was left with no one to taunt and just ran around in circles with the ball hoping to entice them back.

" What's the mater Rosie?   Don't you want to go hunting with boys?"
 "NO!    Ball  Is  Life."

Well all the dedication and hard work training have paid off.  Koda got his first mole today.  At least I think it was a mole.  When they're that young it's hard to differentiate mole from mouse.  Especially when they've been chewed on a little.  It was the right color though and the head and hands looked pretty mole like to me.  We're going to treat as one whether it is or not though.  There's a big party tonight.  Jerky for everyone.

I loaned the camera to Rosie's mom for a while.  That ought to help a little.

Nonetheless pretty much all the surviving burrowing critters in the neighborhood now have nice wide entrances to their homes.  Rocky is really into renovation.

Unfortunately I didn't have the camera with me for the little guy's first solo hunting success this morning.  He manged to snag the biggest damn annual cicada I have ever seen.  It was twice the size of his seventeen year cousins that took over the place last spring.  It was the loudest too.  It was like he came running out of the bushes with a doorbell buzzer.  I took the camera back in before the money shot on the one I did post too.  Imagine this with Koda humping his neck for all he's worth.

Well, it's official.  Rocky and I have won and are going to keep the little guy.  We found out his name, at least his most recent name, was Koda.  He doesn't respond to it very well yet.  I suspect his former owners may have been the type that talk more about their dog than to their dog.  At any rate I think I'm going to keep it.   I think it's a little better than Bob and there is no way it could morph into anything close to Rocky.  The big dog and I are absolutely overjoyed.   Here are the required pix:
