RIP Buster

Once known as Dallas, was shot, lost a leg, lived for years outdoors, owner sent away for being a disgusting human, arrived at the shelter, was adopted, returned, adopted by us at about 7 years old, named "VeeVee" for a week or two for reasons that RP will understand, but became "Buster." And here he found a soft bed and lots of pizza bones.

Regret that I never got to meet him. Sincere condolences to you all.

As I had so hoped, getting him a puppy has done wonders.  He still has a very concerned worried look when I leave them, but he stays quiet.  He may still be panicking on the inside and just holding it together for the pup, but I think it's real progress.  I can go to restaurants without ruining everyone's meal again.  I think we may be close to having this thing licked.  Really how upset can you get with something this cute hanging on your ear?

I and I suspect most of us from time to time provide dialogue for our dogs.  Rosie's dad is really good at it mostly because he's so expressive when he does the dog's lines.  You might appreciate one he did yesterday that knowing Rosie just cracked me up.  Fetch has become a fiercely competitive sport for the big dogs.  Rosie had won a round and was just starting her victory dance when Rocky caught wind of something, switched into hunting mode, and went bounding into the woods with his apprentice in tow.  The poor puppy was left with no one to taunt and just ran around in circles with the ball hoping to entice them back.

" What's the mater Rosie?   Don't you want to go hunting with boys?"
 "NO!    Ball  Is  Life."

Well all the dedication and hard work training have paid off.  Koda got his first mole today.  At least I think it was a mole.  When they're that young it's hard to differentiate mole from mouse.  Especially when they've been chewed on a little.  It was the right color though and the head and hands looked pretty mole like to me.  We're going to treat as one whether it is or not though.  There's a big party tonight.  Jerky for everyone.

I loaned the camera to Rosie's mom for a while.  That ought to help a little.
