When my USB ports went out on my old mac I found a great solution: Upgrade to USB 2.0 by adding a PCI card in one the 4 empty slots. A $30 solution. Easy! Except I need to install a driver for the stinking card. Which I can't do because the mouse and keyboard won't work until the new card works. Super Ironic!
