Trump's net worth isn't relevant to his candidacy. The man is not fit or prepared to be President. His knowledge base relevant to the job's demands is non-existent and he has a tiny circle of third- or fourth-rate advisors.

Articles about Trump's net worth:

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/19/us/politics/donald-trump-money.html

The financial disclosure statement that Trump released to the FEC (which he claimed was the largest ever provided to the Commission and so presumably quite detailed) seems to indicate that is worth might be less than $2 billion:

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/05/18/us/politics/trump-financial-disclosure.html
This last link reports on the feud between Trump and Forbes Magazine over his net worth:

http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/09/29/facts-figures-donald-trumps-real-net-worth-according-to-forbes/

"Donald Trump has said he’s worth $10 billion (or more), but his actual net worth is significantly less than that, according to an analysis by Forbes.

Randall Lane, the editor of the magazine, writes:

“Trump’s valuation this year holds extra importance, of course, due to his audacious second act: his highly unlikely – but no longer inconceivable – path to the presidency. Trump has filed statements claiming he’s worth at least $10 billion or, as he put in a press release, TEN BILLION DOLLARS (capitalization his). After interviewing more than 80 sources and devoting unprecedented resources to valuing a single fortune, we’re going with a figure less than half that – $4.5 billion, albeit still the highest figure we’ve ever had for him.”  "

Trump's net worth isn't relevant to his candidacy. The man is not fit or prepared to be President. We could argue all day about his temperament and character, but the guy hasn't prepared at all for the job. His knowledge base relevant to the job's demands is non-existent and he has a tiny circle of third- or fourth-rate advisors.

What was Abraham Lincoln's net worth?

Thomas Jefferson's was probably negative.

Even if his net worth were one of the few things he isn't lying about it wouldn't qualify him to control nuclear launch codes.

For a man who was nearly broke at the end of the 80's, he's done pretty well since then for such a stoopid man.  Think how much more he could have made if he was smart !

His net worth is questionable and is only self-declared.
Tax returns are undisclosed when their disclosure would embarrass.

He is demonstrably unfit, imo, to be President. Manifest by his history, written as recently as today, in words and actions.

He will deserve serious attention only because he is highly likely to be on the ballot, but not because he is qualified to President.

I think a person's net worth is irrelevant, vs other qualifications/disqualifications, to be taken seriously as POTUS.

{#Snooty}  No way.  He doesn't want to be POTUS.  He's just doing this to up his brand, sell books and get Hillary elected.  That's what all the wise men have been saying from the start.  And most here as well.  Nothing to worry about, he's just doing this for fun.

Forget the constant lying, boasting and verbal abuse from Trump. Frankly, I wouldn't buy a newspaper from a guy who behaves like that, but let's put that aside.

Forget the rip-off schemes he's been involved with like Trump University.

Forget the four bankruptcies.

The bottom line is that the guy has not prepared at all to make good decisions and back good policies as President. He's great at complaining but is pretty much thinking up policy ideas on his own and then floating them to the public, without any research or facts to back him up. Every time he comes up with an idea like building the Wall, private- and public-sector experts in the field politely say that Trump doesn't know what he's talking about.

Running a campaign on Twitter and shock statements is a hoot, especially when voters don't care what you say as long as you yell and get angry. Being a President is 1000 times harder than being a responsible, effective CEO—which Trump is not. A President is not a king with unlimited powers as Trump apparently believes. Most Presidents complain about their limited ability to create good policy, especially in a gridlocked Washington.

Trump talks a good game but there is no way he can keep his promises, especially the ones that deal with bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US or building The Wall or getting tough with China.  A loudmouth can say he feels your pain but that's no guarantee he can or will do anything about it.

That might actually hurt him a little bit in the extremely unlikely event he could make it happen.

Do as I say, not as I do.
