The killing of the completion of Keystone restarted the Trans Mountain Expansion effectively tripling the capacity to the West Coast from 300K bpd to 890K bpd which is about 25% of all Canadian production.  The bulk of what reaches the Gulf finishes its journey by either rail or truck, much more dangerous and inefficient than a state of the art new pipeline.  Also a waste of finite trucking and rail capacities needed for other purposes, such as moving containers from coastal ports to the interior.

Sure let's have another New Palestine, Ohio.  That was only 50 miles from me as the crow flies.  Prolly the next one will be in Oklahoma.

CER issues final authorization for Trans Mountain Expansion Project to operate

Anyway it doesn't matter Kamala will do anything to kill the oil industry, which is the other reason she will be elected.

You're really reaching on this one.  Of course there are certain types of crude that require special refining processes, such as the heavy crudes coming from both Venezuela and Brazil.  We built refineries specifically for these types of crudes, the same as would have been coming down the Keystone Pipeline from an ally, Canada, not our enemies.  Now the bulk of Canada's tar oil goes to the West Coast via a new pipeline built when Keystone was killed and off the continent to China.

That is one reason we had Venezuela in a bind, until Biden rolled over and killed the Keystone making us need Venezuela's crude to keep our refineries going.

You are aware that we went into Libya at France's request because their refineries were dependent on Libya's special light sweet crude ?  If it wasn't for that, there would have been no urgency to go into Libya at all, and the area would not necessarily be destabilized as it is now.  We certainly had no interest in Libya's oil.  It was all the EU and specifically France.

You need to read up and learn more about crude oil, the types and the processes and who has what processes available to refine which crude.

The fact that we became a net exporter means absolutely nothing to you and your friends.  Instead you redefine reality to suit the needs of your arguments, which is how the left in general works to keep their narrative alive.  Energy independence means that we are on equal footing with the rest of the world and had real leverage for the first time in managing our needs without having to rely on our enemies for crude.  If the Keystone were finished we would not need the enemy's crude, they would need us more than ever to refine their crude which no one else in the West has any major capabilities to do it.  Also we could always reconfigure our present refineries if needed.

You need to understand the real scope of how oil works and does not.  I knew everything above without having to look it up.  Go ahead and debunk me.  It should be easy.

"In 2015, President Obama, as part of a budget omnibus bill, repealed a statutory crude oil export ban that was in place since 1975. According to the Government Accountability Office, this repeal resulted in a rise of crude oil exports from half a million barrels per day in 2015 to more than 3 million barrels per day in 2020.

Trump simply restarting "Drill, Baby, Drill" will drastically reduce inflation. And quickly.  Are Trump supporters the only ones who understand that energy costs is the largest driver of determining the immediate cost of a single product or service ?  Cheap reliable energy is what built this country and gave us an economic advantage over everyone else.

Trump always has been entirely blamed for the Covid pandemic.  There are endless comments to be found here in threads confirming this.  Not to mention everywhere else in the MSM media.

Wrong again. Try Mr. Global - an expert in energy and an oil and gas producer. Here's just one instance of him debunking the MAGA energy BS. There's plenty more, especially regarding Nordstream and Keystone.  https://x.com/Matthewcanwrite/...

Oil production and refining are constrained by infrastructure.  Current US production is 13.12 million barrels per day, which is higher than ever.  Any suggestion that Trump is going to increase production and bring down the price of a global commodity is somewhere between fantasy and stupidity, the primary sources for nearly all Trump policy.

The inflation was global.
Inflation has been reduced. If it was due to Biden’s energy policies, why has it reduced?

Oh...nevermind.

The US economy is currently the envy of the world.  Yes, prices are high, but they are everywhere on the planet.  The "going back to the Trump years" idea if clueless fantasy, but we seem to be too stupid as a population to appreciate how things work.

We used to make fun our our grandparents "bread was a nickel", "milk was a quarter", commentary... and now we say the same shit... "a pizza was $5".... " a big Mac was $2"... Very rarely does food get cheaper.  Nothing Trump has suggested would lower prices, yet the "things were so great during the Trump years" BS has a life of its own.

Trump is fully losing it. Watch any of his recent speeches for five minutes. He’s completely incoherent. He has been this way for months, but it keeps getting worse. The only thing that’s different now is that it’s a news story—finally!—and more people are recognizing it. Also, his crowds are walking out on him now during these rambling speeches that run to an hour and a half or more.
. . .

That’s what we have on this day before Election Day: a well-run campaign with a disciplined candidate who is actually talking about people’s lives, versus a Pollock canvas of a campaign led by a candidate who is both losing what remains of his marbles and stewing ever more deeply in the vinegar of his prejudices and hatreds. The only hanging question now is whether enough Americans have taken note.

~ Michael Thomasky, editor of The New Republic

https://newrepublic.com/articl...

I've watched video clips of Trump at his rallies lately—admittedly the person/s posting are highlighting the worst moments—but his asides have turned into rambles and when he does stay on point it's the same old same old. He's far worse than Biden ever was.

For the pro-Trump people out there, I have to ask: what exactly do like about Trump's vision for the US? Which plans and goals?

The tariffs that will make goods more expensive for YOU?

The roundup and deportation of immigrants which will through our economy and labor market into chaos, likely leading to unfilled low-end jobs and inflation?

The end of the ACA which will through millions off of health insurance and kill people?

Right now, the economy is quite strong. Some prices are still high but inflation overall is back to normal. Illegal immigration has slowed to a trickle thanks to Biden's deals with Mexico to detain more immigrants entering that country. The ACA works although it could stand some improvement.

Under Trump, the US has nowhere to go but down. While Donnie gets older and more senile over the next four years.
