I watched that quite a bit growing up.
It made me realize, even way back then, that I was being duped by a kids show. This was when I was about 4 years old... around 1959.
The Captain announced just before a commercial that a "Dancing Bear" would come on next. I was all excited and told my mom.
I felt like a fool when "Dancing Bear" was a guy in a fake bear suit. I confessed to my mom what happened.
She told me for the first time "Things aren't always what they seem."
Thanks mom for a life lesson.
