Red_Dragon wrote: I have a book called "Fast Food" that was a compilation of stories from semi-famous people about their food experiences. It was great, but this reminds me of a page with people remembering their strangest experiences with food. A director (I forget) talked about a raw egg fight he had with an actress named Sigourney Weaver that turned into something pretty...exciting for him. She was an unknown at the time of the book publication (mid 70s). Wish I could find that thing.

During our meal a heat wave blew through and the bank sign reported it had warmed up to -2. Yeah, I remember that one. I remember it all like it was yesterday.
When was this? In ~1994-95 I lived at 18th & Vine, about 4 blocks from Pete's.

Was there in May for a conference. Stayed at an AirBnB near 11th and Speer and walked a lot in the downtown area. No snow when I was there though.

oldviolin wrote:Their names were something and Dave And they lived in an alcove behind a weed shop in bright red sleeping bags someone dropped off. with Skol vodka for heat- sold by pints in plastic It was zero and less many of those January nights, teens when it warmed up
I would see them on different corners during the week on my walks with Shiloh. They begged all day and drank and argued all night. Dave was friendly and I talked with him many times, brought food or coffee from a burger joint down the street. Healthy living had nothing on these guys. Nothing at all.
That was almost 6 years ago. I think about them sometimes. The only difference really was that thanks to Buddy Me and Shiloh had a place to lay our heads and it didn't smell of piss and puke. Life at street level.
Weird, that passed a place I used to live very early in the video. For the record, I think that is Lincoln, not Broadway. And at the time I was dangerously close to the land of piss and puke.
