Sorry, not trying to make light of the disease - which is truly awful.

Just trying to put it in perspective vs. the general response seen so far. No disrespect of those affected intended, just disrespect of the news cycle hysteria.

This makes no sense at all. I've heard that 56% of the people who get ebola die instantly, the other 56% even faster.

I heard that the time it takes to die from ebola is steadily diminishing. It started out at several days and now it's down to 12 seconds or so.

I wasn't talking about the death rate, I was talking about the discussion you started. It's still there to r-e-a-d:

It seems that not only do you have trouble reading, but listening seems to be somewhat defective as well. Time for an otolaryngologist? {#Mrgreen}

Oh no...It just dawned on me...Obama and Ebola both have five letters...Three vowels and two consonants...Both beginning and ending in a vowel with the second and fourth letter in each a consonant...Coincidence? I think not.{#Snooty}

Apparently Greta Van Susteren says that it's nuts to think it's not easily transmitted, since 2 folk in protective gear were infected.

She forgets that not a single acquaintance of Mr. Duncan - including the people he was staying with - have been infected.

But, whatever. Sharpen the pitchforks! Gas up those torches!

And remember - not a single person who ate kale 150 years ago is still alive, which is why I ain't touching that stuff.

Yeah, torches!  Tiki Torches!  And Rum Drinks!  And some of that great dip, but definitely no kale. Some good music and a friendly crowd and this will be a great party! (that is where you were headed with this right?  I'm not touching a pitchfork, do your own lawn).

No, the death rate of healthcare workers to patients is not nonsense.  It is accurate, according to BHD, at least.

Here in the US, we have, so far, two confirmed healthcare workers infected from one patient.

The cleaning bill for the apartment inhabited by the late Mr. Duncan is roughly $135 k according to the company that performed the work.  That is significant as well.  The local county is on the hook for that expense, so far.

There is also a second dwelling belonging to Ms. Pham that was also cleaned by the same company.

I'm sure that Ms. Vinson's place will also be cleaned at a similar cost.  Rough estimate is prolly $400 k for all three.

Hospital care for Mr Duncan was estimated at $1,000 per hour minimum.

2 schools here in Cleveland / Akron were shut down temporarily as well as several businesses.  I can't speak for Dallas.

Hopkins airport underwent extensive cleaning due to Ms. Vinson.

These costs are racking up rapidly with local governments and business owners on the hook for the bills.

I'll let you worry about the Media coverage regarding Africa.
g'nite ...
