lol So my pilot theme is of course a road trip mix. Would you be opposed to doing a road trip mix for someone? I like the idea of voting on a theme, I'm fine with it being optional.

OCDHG wrote:Awesome idea. I'd like it if whoever is doing the mix decides the theme, though. Otherwise it feels too much like homework lol How about we make the theme thing optional? I think if I'm going to do this every month, I'll eventually need a little help with a theme.

I was thinking that we could vote on a theme each month, you could let me know if you are interested in taking on that theme, I would make a list of all those interested, and give someone a name to send to like the gift swap idea. You don't have to particiate every month and you would only have one person to send to. Then of course we would all share what we got here on this thread.
What does everyone think about this idea?? I like that idea, but I also think that what OCDHG said makes a lot of sense too. To be able to choose your own topic could be a good thing—especially since some of us know one another better than others and that could impact what sort of a mix we make for them.

newwavegurly wrote:dio made an interesting suggestion on your FB page—the idea of it being one person sending a CD to one person each month. Sort of the way the gift swaps have worked here, just with CDs. I don't know how many people you've got signed up for this yet, but it could be split into smaller groupings and the "co-hosts" (I think you mentioned the idea of them at some point) for that month could each get a small group that they send CDs to of their own making... Sorry, just brainstorming out loud here. That is so freaky! This is going to be fun. I just took a peak at song ratings. Lots of diversity and similarity.
And these are just the songs played here.

fishy, i completely understand where you're coming from and will be fine with whatever is decided.
i think it is important to come up with NEW mixes - not just rehashing something you've had or made for someone else, in keeping with the whole concept of mix tapes, but that's just me. plus, how would anyone know? LOL anyway, i have already thought of at least 10 possible themes. Absolutely. I have other mixed CDs that I've made before, but I think part of the fun in all of this is coming up with something new—and something that is specifically meant for the rather eclectic group that will surely be a part of this.
