Okay so yesterday I burned all my discs plus one for me and I listened to it on the way home from work yesterday and again on the way in this morning and came to one unavoidable fact: I had a song out of place. I really needed to drop it but didn't want to but I had to move it to improve its segue. Still not great but it's less clunky. I also re-did the start/stop times and did get the segues tighter by clipping off some silence here and there... and burned a new set of discs... ahh, much better. If I weren't so lazy I'd to the Audacity thing and get it to really flow but you poor suckers are going to have to rough it.

Now for the packaging. Hmm.

Okay it's official!

The iTunes Equalizer does not effect disc burning!

The disc that sounded bad on my computer sounded bad because of what I had my EQ set to.  On my big stereo, the first disc I burned (with bad EQ turned on) sounds exactly the same as the disc burned with the EQ set to flat.

We can all go back to our regular lives now.

Yes, iTunes does have a volume leveler called "Sound Check" and that does apply to CD burning, but it's not adjustable, it's on or off. There's a sound enhancer but again I don't think that changes the burned file.
