In my previous life, when my kids were teens, my then husband and I would hole up in our sitting room/bedroom with a bag of chocolate candy. Then I would put on proper mood music. At the time I was really into Dave Matthews Band Crash album, so I would usually put that on while we "enjoyed our privacy."

One night my son said to me "My friends are coming over tonight, so please, no Dave Matthews." Apparently he knew what that meant, by the way he said it.
