You may not have caught my message, which was "the Americans will never attack SOUTH Korea."
I've been cleaning the bathroom and the ammonia fumes have gone to my head. :snort: So these run-by postings are done on the fly. I know South Korea, it's right beside the Northern one and I know northern things, but I want you to know that I'm a hockey Dad and I want to tell ya about my executive experience on the Board of my son's alternative elementary school. Ya know, we sometimes had to make payroll out of our own pockets so we would have teachers the next day. But, by golly, gosh-darnit, we would always get 'er done.
Now I'm going to tackle the kitchen. I'll do another run-by in a while. I know international stuff ya know, I'm on a narrow watery frontier with the Bahamas.
(The Bail Out Financial Rescue Bill passed the House.)
Sorry if this had already been posted today. IMHO - This is the part where Palin showed her true, unqualified self, as opposed to the person who had just been trained in debate boot camp. I work in the environmental sector. She clearly has no clue.
Hands down the worst answer of the night (and maybe of the eleventy billion debates so far this campaign) was Biden's answer on Afghanistan. Let me try and unpack it: "Well, the commanding general in Afghanistan says a surge won't work, but the general above him, Petraeus at Centcom, says it will. But Obama's called for a surge in Afghanistan and we need that, but I've never supported McCain's military strategy which is, by the way, the surge. Oh look, here's a picture of a cat with a piece of bacon taped to it."
I was once told by a good friend that if given the choice between conspiracy or stupidity, go with stupidity as it is much more likely.
What was McCain thinking? I can just see some brainless Christian Maranatha Warrior madman killing McCain so that a "born again" leader could be put into the Whitehouse and Sarah being unleashed upon us all.
"A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful, and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others. It is a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity."

Horrifying, ain't it? Very good article in the current (or recent) Newsweek by Sam Harris on just how incredibly end-times wacko she actually is. . . .
In retrospect, we elected Bush from a mostly fear-based mindset and I think that many people have regrets that may well be taken into account in the upcoming election. I think that a warrior stance should be our last resort instead of our presumed response and this is probably the key factor shaping my vote this fall even in light of the current financial mess.
Amen again, sister Blu.

I do think that Biden missed a golden opportunity when Palin was speaking about (enemies of) Israel, and also Iran, and I think it was South Korea (she referred to the rulers) to ask her if she and McCain planned on attacking every country that they perceived as unstable and just how many battles did they think we needed to be fighting. Her stance really did make me nervous to think what the future might hold if McCain wins the election. Biden should have emphasized that point.
An attack on South Korea should be real easy to get going on, as the Americans already have troops on the ground.
I think that's too generous. She'd never admit she was wrong because . . . because, like Bush (and McCain?) the very concept escapes her.
