That looks pretty awesome - like some sort of dreamscape. However, that page does stress the possible drawbacks: " This can be a dangerous place to climb due to the rotten and loose rock, and the large populations of predators like grizzly bears, mountain lions, and wolves should not be taken lightly."
Anyhow, ptarmigans are pretty odd-looking birds:

That's the mating season plumage. They are blend-in all white in winter and blend-in brown in the summer. When I worked in Northern Canada we called them ptarmichickens.
