I cannot express to you the meaning of having Motown and early Beatles fill the corners of your preteen childhood with joy. No other music can compare in that regard. For me. ;)

As well, I was partially raised by a brother who listened to Clapton, Trower, Dylan, Santana, Grateful Dead, Tull, and sisters who listened to CSN&Y, Joni Mitchell, Cat Stephens, Elton John.....well, you get the point. I had the best of all worlds and appreciation for many genres/generations of music. And then along comes Bill G and Rebecca....to provide it on a daily basis.

I helped raise two stepchildren born in 78 and 80, so yeah, I heard some. Granted, their decade was the 90s, but I hear what Bill plays from my post-youth. You know that I like some of it, and that I consider Chrissie the greatest rock star on the planet. I do understand your own love for it. We antiques listened to our own share of crap, trust me.

Which is exactly what 80s music is for many of us. I wonder if you've even heard or been exposed to the HALF of what was really being played back then——as opposed to just commercial radio and MTV hits. There were many gems that never got big recognition (that were way more than just synth-pop).
