Whenever she's feeling empty
Whenever she's feeling insecure
Whenever her face is frozen
Unable to fake it anymore
Her shadow is always with her
Her shadow could always keep her small
So frightened that he won't love her
She builds up a wall

Oh no, she knows where to hide in the dark
Oh no, she's nowhere to hide in the dark
She's a star
She's a star

She's been in disguise forever
She's tried to disguise her stellar views
Much brighter than all this static
Now she's coming through

Oh no, she knows where to hide in the dark
Oh no, she's nowhere to hide in the dark
She's a star
She's a star

Don't tell her to turn down
Put on your shades if you can't see
Don't tell her to turn down
Turn up the flame
She's a star
She's a star

It's a long road
It's a good call
It's a long road
It's a good call

You got it
You got it
She's a Star

Woohoo!  I'm gonna see them this coming Sunday - can't wait!
Was lucky enough to see these guys live a couple times.  Great shows...
I've just gotten into James the past year or two. How did I ever miss these guys when I was younger. Play more James. I making up for lost time. {#Clap}
James are playing Solfest this year https://www.solwayfestival.co.uk/
Happy party song that reminds me of long sunny days at the end of the 90s
Thanks much for the bit of James- every time I hear them I'm reminded of the need to break out my collection and have a listen.
I love James{#Hearteyes}
Oh for the love of God...

We definitely need more James played on RP.  I saw them 3 times on the North American tour this Fall & they were beyond amazing.

Is it just me, or does the melody of (parts of) this remind anyone else of Modest Mouse - Float On? Cause, for me, the resemblance is intense. Just curious...

I hear a bit of the Waterboys' Whole of the Moon ...

interesting how the most "uncool" of artists (Billy Joel) is exerting an influence
I was lucky enough to see these guys right after 'Laid' came out a a medium sized GA club in Boston. (Avalon) That same week I saw Jeff Buckley OPEN for Juliana Hatfield at the same venue.
Now, that's a nice one!
Good to hear it again! For me it's a clear 9!
This track is worth a lot more than an average 6.3!! Great music RP, keep it coming.

by the way, it sounds to me like somebody in central massachusetts needs to bust-out their american history book and look up where the revolution really started.
Lexington, MA? Just visited Beantown...what a history lesson...all of which I'd forgotten in the 25 years since I was last there. Fortunately, history doesn't change. Nor does this tune, which I find most excellent. Soft spot for Kinks, I suppose. Sorry.
Not heard this for years! awesome RP

not the whole song! just the parts where he howls. by the way, it sounds to me like somebody in central massachusetts needs to bust-out their american history book and look up where the revolution really started.

I'm reminded of Bread, Baby I'm a Want You "used to be my life was just emotions passing by.."

anyone know anything about the cd cover? i really, really like it.
Yeah, its got these cool flowers on it and pretty colors. I like it too. Would make good shelf paper, or linoleum print. Maybe curtains. Too bright for a sofa. Could block-print it on a wall, or silk-screen it on a sheet. Nice.

Not one of their best offerings, but pretty good nevertheless.

ALWAYS play more James! There's so much good stuff of theirs...and more people should know!
I like to cover art better than the song.

Speaking of James, how about some James McMurtry?
Nice, Bill. A thematic trifecta.
