Please don't tear this world asunder
Please take back this fear we're under
I demand a better future
Or I might just stop wanting you
I might just stop wanting you

Please make sure we get tomorrow
All this pain, all this sorrow
I demand a better future
Or I might just stop needing you
I might just stop needing you

Give my children sunny smiles
Give them warm and cloudless skies
I demand a better future
Or I might just stop loving you
I might just stop loving you, loving you

When you talk
We talk too
When you walk
We walk too

From factory to field
How many tears must fall
Down here below
Nothing is moving

I might just stop wanting you
I might just stop needing you
I might just stop loving you

I demand a better future
I demand a better future
I demand a better future
For I might just stop loving you
Loving you, loving you

I demand a better future
I demand a better future
I demand a better future
Or I might just stop loving you
Loving you, loving you

I demand a better future

Not even worthy of "Eurovision"....
Terrific cut from an under-appreciated album.  More, please, BillG!
This is truly awful.
best bowie i've heard and all you can scrape up is a 5.7? tough room.

Another great DB track.  I'm glad to see some of the newer stuff on RP.  This CD and Reality, both from the 2000s, contain some great tracks.  As does the Hours CD released in 98.

I agree with you. I especially like 5:15 the angels have gone and Everyone Says "Hi" from this CD. There's a sweet sadness about Everyone Says "Hi".
Appalling... like he's trying to sound like Damon Albarn.

Demand all you like Dave....I demand you stop this it offends the ears.

A P.O.S. should know one when he sees one, I guess.  If you don't have anything positive, constructive, or insightful to say... you could just keep it to yourself.

It's possible that God is tempted to say the same to us. Why do we demand? Isn't it up to us?

I heard these lyrics as satirical - aimed at those who think God determines our future - not as a statement of DB's personal feelings...

I so agree. Time to ban the puker.

Maybe you should check to see who the REAL enemy is.

Could it be ... SATAN!!!

Oh, that Bowie spin's a "6," BTW ... maybe.

Obama!  Be on notice!

Well, that picture isn't of James Dobson. It's of Pat Robertson.

Hear, hear.

Speaking of hear, I like what I'm hearing.

Would love to hear DB do this in the 1970's- minus the slick studio production. Sounds like he phoned a good bit of this one in.

Love the man - see my other posts - but can anyone say "Never Let Me Down" - he did
refreshing!
'i demand a better song, or i just might switch the station'
loving it. saw the Heathen tour twice and this is a great song off a fabulous record. for those who think David was past his prime in 1983 you are so wrong. For you young ones - look for anything with Tony Visconti producing. He brings out the best in David.

I have been hoping that Bill would also play "Cactus" off of this too. The album is a masterpiece--creative and fresh. Probably his best of the current decade anyway.
The man's a genius, and still pretty hot too.
Heathen
Great to hear some different Bowie. The Heathen album has a couple of tunes that stand among his best. Pay some more!
Thank you!!
Bowie never disapoints!
Trippy.
I'm slowly starting to like Bowie. This is helping, if even only slightly.
play this, please
