I just want to feel safe in my own skin
I just want to be happy again
I just want to feel deep in my own world
But I'm so lonely
I don't even want to be with myself anymore

On a different day
If I was safe in my own skin
Then I wouldn't feel lost and so frightened
But this is today
And I'm lost in my own skin
And I'm so lonely
I don't even want to be with myself anymore

And I just say oh, oh
I feel, oh, oh

And I'm so lonely
I don't even want to be with myself anymore.

I just say oh, oh
And i'm so lonely
I feel oh, oh
I dont even want to be with myself anymore.

I just want to feel safe in my own skin
I just want to be happy again.

Oh. No. You. Didn't. {#Rolleyes}
Love this album.  Love Dido.  She was definitely not in the same group of female popsters like Brittany.

Well, they have a hole
Good times.
Import CD with bonus trax - 2008. Quite nice

Is this a remix? I have this album and just don't remember it this way. In fact, I thought it was Thievery Corporation at first...Odd.

Nope, this is the original.  My fave on the album.
This has been my song many a-time.
This has a Moorcheba feel to it..

No, I was a complete f**kwit.

Back on topic, great song {#Mrgreen}

Don't think I've heard this before, kind of has a Thievery vibe to it.
Love this album, and can really relate to this song.

Sucks when a singer you like looks so much like your ex-girlfriend...

Damn, she's fine!
Like this, haven't heard it in ages, sounds especially good coming not long after Talk Talk and Goldfrapp trippy numbers...
But then see the elevation here is significant, it's 9 on a Friday, and Modest Mouse if already in the offing, love this interface.
CLASS ACT, RP GANG!

Oh is it over...nodded off there

They're usually pretty bashful and won't show you everything they've got. You really have to get to know them first.

Honestly, not OK.
Help!. Earlier today it was Katie Melua. Once again like Dido I agree she looks cute. BUT and it's a massive BUT this is just MUSAK. Come on RP, what are these MOR artists doing on your playlist? A solid 1.
My favorite female CD of the 00's

I guess with a first name like Dido, you really don't need to use your last name.
With a name like Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong, it's probably best to stick with "Dido," her stage name.

I remember liking this once and now I hate myself for it. Her voice sounds exactly like a blank white porcelain wall tile, utterly without character. Apart from the character of a total lack of character, of course.

She's OK in small doses. Over the course of a CD she starts to sound bland and repetitive, IMO.
She melts me...
Confido Dido please!
I just love her Voice.

Saw a review for Dido somewhere that simply said "anyone with a penis should not own this album." Made me laugh... and think hmm... I really ought to give this back, or just get the damn op. A good litmus test for an album is to put it next (use your imagination to save costly mistakes) to those of some of your favourite artists and ask: "would this lot still want to be your bud if they knew you respected this un?"
The best comment I have ever seen on RP. Hands down. Works on so many levels I can't even begin to respond.

Agreed. I sold this album back after one listen. The songs were trite, too similar, and her singing never really went anywhere beyond a controlled, whispery mumble. I'm not usually this opinionated, but it really makes me crazy that there are so many amazing singers out there, and this stuff gets national recognition.
I personally like this tune, but I hate it when I buy a disc on the strength of one track and the rest is fluff. That's why I like iTunes! This has a nice Drum & Bass groove to it.

OK she's fairly sexy - but unfortunately - and I hate to be picky - she just can't sing!

Yes she is a miserable twenty something. Or at least she was. But I love that.
Actually, she writes the happy(er) tunes, it's her brother Rollo (Faithless) who writes the really dark stuff for her...!
haven't heard this one before..kinda gotan project-esque, but thats a good thing. 8

it's pretty good music, but i can't stand her whining voice. not as terrible as the cranberries, but it's still sucko-barfo for me...

Why is Dido always lonely or sad? Poor thing.

More mumbling than singing.

Wake me when it's over....
Yes, indeed. Dido is very sexy, very soulful, and I generally enjoy her stuff - macho bull$#!% be damned. Eat the quiche if it tastes good, I say! chillynne wrote:
I dunno, I always thought whether or not I liked the music would be a good litmus test, "respect" be damned. :-)

Anyone know if that's Gotan Project backing her up? Sure sounds like them. Very likeable tune.
I'm no wanker, and still consider this music to be for me :) On a conference I attended not so long ago, someone connected the (big) beamer to his apple laptop, and played her life concert that he had stored. That was great! She proves to be able to perform life.
strictly background. music for wankers.
a really unique song and thorough composition
dido is perfect... don't panic!
sounds like the tracks are skipping quite a bit this morning -- anyone else notice that? maybe it's me...

Ditto below on Dido! Feel free to play more of her stuff. I thought she was a bit Pop oriented till I saw her on a KCRW.com Videocast. She has a nice way with her music.
nice
Nice laid back groove.. good to hear some of Dido here...
