Ugh. I can't listen to this song anymore. If you had a "Request this Song Not be Played" link I'd be the first to click on it.
i agree, m. stipe even admitted on latenite tv that this was a b-side they resurrected for some onlygodknows reason 8O (and i am a huge fan otherwise)
"...I Feel Fine" was during the IRS days, this is the "best of" from the warner bros. days.

But with End of the World being so amazing, this still comes across as a poor cousin. I just heard Bill say it would be on a new greatest hits package ---- so do they put it before or after End of the World?
End of the World isn't on the new "greatest hits" album... and neither is shiney happy people... or any of their "hits" for that matter...
R(udimentary)
E(motional)
M(ush)
I still love REM, but I really MISS Bill Berry's drumming!
There's an old saying: "Sex is like pizza. When it's good, it's fantastic. When it's bad... it's still pretty damn good"
REM is like pizza.

Actually, I'm told they wrote this first and it evolved into End of the World. They are just releasing it now. It's really grown on me.

Yeah, this is a super old song and it is only now coming out. Better late than never. Good stuff!

Verses VERY similar to "End of the World" but still a good song. Wouldn't be the first band to repackage a tune. Like it a lot!

i saw them do this live on tv a couple weeks ago and it was much better. but still an okay song. i think their best is way behind them, tho.
Saw them live a few weeks ago (before the release), and it was very good live. Yeah, it sounds like ITEoTWaWKi, but Michaels ability to personalize "please" makes it worthwhile. He's amazing!

"That's great it starts with airplanes..." Same kind of vibe? Sounds like the verse could as easily drop into a chorus of "it's the end of the world..." as it does into "...bad day"
It's totally the same song. That's always a bad sign...

very nice song... easy to listen to for me anyways and with a very relatable (wd?) topic.
How can some REM songs be so brilliant and some be as bad as this rubbish? It never ceases to amaze me.
This may be the worst REM song ever.
Christ - Just when I thought I had heard the worst of REM - this comes on.
It's been a bad day...after hearing this, it's become much, much worse.
:(
I just saw them in concert. They continue to amaze me. The song is great and the performace at the concert was wonderful.
1 isn't low enough for this song....
I'm liking this more each time I hear it.
The video is fantastic. Watch it at www.morningteam.com
I used to (yawn) really like these guys, but now (yawn), they just make me feel tired.......
