omg, my brother and i bought a 68 Buick Special from our parents - that thing was a TANK. my first accident was losing my brakes while chasing some a-holes who had my friend's sister (don't miss her behaviour) after the drive-in movie ended. would have been in trouble in a lesser car. scared the crap out of the driver when the brakes failed and i 'tapped' him. took down a speed limit sign and a mailbox, pulled the emergency brake and stopped just short of a telephone pole. i was ready to beat the crap out of the stupid punk driver due to adrenaline and his attitude. good times...wasn't even 18.

That's a coincidence, I had a used 1969 Buick Special as my first car back in the late 70's, and as you say, those things were built like tanks. No fear of getting into an accident, lol.

I left my hearing at the Capital Theater in Passaic forty some odd years ago. Or was it at the Ritz in NYC? The Warner in D.C.? The Great American Music Hall in S.F.?
*(disclaimer) I must confess that the Allman Bros. Fillmore East album shares that all time favorite album spot in my life. I have that album on multiple mediums as well. Saw Muddy Waters open for the Bros. at Jersey City's Roosevelt Stadium back in the day.

At the risk of sending listeners somewhere else... The Hot Tuna boys have put a massive number (probably > 200) of live shows on Spotify. You might even find one that you were at.
Personally I'm almost ashamed to say that I've never seen them live and am starting to worry that I might never get the chance.

Just made my day. Given Paul Kantner's recent passing... I've been reminded of how he and Jorma Kaukonen got together with this infamous Papa John Creach and put out some crazy, great new music, unlike anything out there. Maybe Ry Cooder... but their patented Jefferson Airplane guitar recipe mixed with that old dude's hot fiddle made a whole new thing out of psychedelia and blues. What a treat to hear you guys actually play this pretty much unheard of music. And RIP P.K.

I'm so old I bought this album when it originally issued on vinyl. Never heard them do anything less than terrific. Really exemplary musicians for all the Original Acid-Rock connections.

LOVE me some Hot Tuna. Back in my serious guitar playing days, I set about learning a huge portion of the Hot Tuna repertoire. I never sounded as good as Jorma but it sure was rewarding to play those pieces.
