Just saw their (she's a they now) concert last night at Sydney Opera House. Fantastic concert in a great venue. Unfortunately this wasn't on the setlist...

They are definitely one of the strangest and darkest artists I've ever encountered but absolutely intriguing.

Everything I have heard from this album is extraordinary. It just struck me that this song in particular is a worthy successor of songs from the great Joy Division albums, and reaches the same heights (or depths).

This the reason why I listen to Radio Paradise, I hear new stuff. I've never heard this before and instantly like it. Fever Ray also did the theme song to Vikings, another excellent track on its own. Fever Ray is a project name, check out The Knife, this is where they come from.

It does bear more of a resemblance to works by Charles Burns, but his style has developed largely from the illustrators, cartoonists, and comic book artists who preceded him, so his is arguably not an altogether "new" style (not that anyone's is). After all, black and white illustration has been done for over 1,000 years. Anyhow, that illustrator's name is Martin Ander - nice work.
