Well we can't change the world
We sure can change the way we live
We can't only take
Also got to learn to give

People do wrong cause they don't understand
There's a book of truths
And a book of lies
Think with your heart
Read between the lines

Things aren't always how they seem
We've got to make the best of it
Eye for an eye
Tooth for a tooth
Sometimes we're blind
We can still see the truth

Well we can't change the world
We sure can change the way we live
We can't only take
Also got to learn to give

Sometimes you're lost
Sometimes you're blind
Think with your heart
Read between the lines

It's still a great flute - but you're right. Ian Anderson is the flute-master. Not sure where I was when I posted the above - probably in another realm (note to self: NEVER go there again!

I love early Tull. and Ian Anderson's playing.  He's the preeminent rock flutist.
I got on RP after Cynaera had left and I see why she's missed.
All that said, I think Jean-Pierre Rampal is THE flutist of the 20th century.
His golden flutes are the hottest non-guitar instruments ever.
Lyrics are excellent and so well match the song energy.

The heavy stand-up bass backs her up perfectly...

Love a lot of Bonobo's tracks - would great to hear 'All in Forms' on the playlist 👍
The bassline is very Snatch soundtrack. Is it because it is?

But what do I know about diamonds?

The Schemelier approves!
One of those tunes where the lyrics and the music just transcends - love this track! And the lyrics are definitely for our times.

D'ya mean the flute in the intro (and elsewhere)?  The album notes give credits only for guitar, double bass, saxophone and trombone - though there is certainly more than those in this cut.

Cowbell
This is a great song.  I am amazed at how Bonobo continually constructs interesting music with amazing instrumentation of wonderful vocals.  This one happens to be relevant to the times, as well.
amazing
Very similar to Moloko, Fun for Me. A Trip Hop Rip Off?

Wow!  An astute observation.  Now I hear it.
I'm pretty sure that there's a couple of samples from "The the" in there. I'll have to dig to see which ones.
This has REALLY grown on me....solid 8.

Bajka

This hip, trippy music has a lot going for it —
including the intriguing, talented, exotic Bajka ~ DIG!

Really cool - digging this one, clearly as I see I commented last time I heard it too!
if only this could be the way it always "is" (be in the moment middy, beee the moment..)
First time i hear this. I was hooked from the second it sounded. Funny how a song can do that to you, now and then.
Great groove - quite nice!

Hidden answer (d): carefully-curated playlist that Bill makes, then uses multiple times.
I am sure it's me....but this song has very little life to it..and the instrumental (flute I'm guessing) has a root canal effect on me....  ok - More wine and I'm sure it will get better ;)
Sounds like a Heineken advert

Bomp. Amazing how different music taste can be. Doesn't it destroy your CD player? {#Wink}
Since Bonobo monkeys do it face to face, the last 2 comments are apropos.

Sounds tawdry.
This beat has grabbed my butt and won't let go. Love it!

It's thought that this helps diffuse any group aggressions. Unlike their hostile, war-like chimpanzee cousins, bonobos are rather calm and like to chill.

Not sure if I'm digging the flute, but there's a definite groove to everything else.
I bought this album from listening to this track here (through the RP link obviously!) and I can recommend it as a real gem.

Fresh, interesting and superb production. -You like this track? Then buy the rest. . . trust me, I'm a doctor.

"If two bonobos have a fight, they may make up with a sexual reconciliation, which is typical for their species. So there's a lot of sexual activity that goes on that has more social meaning than reproductive meaning." Their sexuality also mirrors humans in a couple of other ways, too. https://www.geocities.com/RainForest/Vines/4451/BonobosLikeHumans.html
