Mira emociona y suena,
Si ya agua ritmo lleva
Ella como gira y vuela
Mientras aquel se menea
Aquel se menea
Y un saludo para todos mis seguidores
My much respect to la campana
Celso piña yessh yes in a the area
Cummbiaa sonidero sonidero sonidero nacional...
Aqui presente compa... suena, suena y emociona
Nuestra, nuestra acordeona
Cumbia by de river
Sweet bless this you're the leader
Right no fighters
Word of jah believe it
A quien comenzo a bailar
Zarandeando el compas
Aprieto y sintonizar
Cuando comienza a soñar
Desde el rio en la ciudad
Nunca deja de soñar
Suena, suena y emociona
Nuestra, nuestra acordeona
Suena, suena y emociona
Nuestra, nuestra acordeona
Suena nuestra acordeona

100% SPOT ON.
SO tired of the usual suspects constantly inserting their TDS into EVERY single comment section. Projecting their own Ugly Bigotry.
People - Get Over It.
A couple million“Ethnics” voted for the Guy.
LOVE this song ~ being capable of Thinking and Feeling for Myself.
Thanks, RP, for the heady Memory Trips! It was very interesting for me that when I first arrived in the surreal Rio Magdalena town of Mompos, the sound of countless boom-boxes blaring out cumbia music was downright jarring and quite annoying. Once I found suitable digs and feasted upon some tasty, cheap local food and drink, however, the pulse became inspiration, and I fell into the universal groove. Days were spent in boats, exploring crystal-clear cenotes and friendly floating camps along the infinite river, and nights were spent in endless revelry and dancing; getting quantum-entangled in Romances that I'll forever smile to recall...
Quantum entangled . Nice metaphor.
Great tune. Thanks, RP
RECOMMENDATION: clicking the "thumbs up" icon sorts comments by most thumbed up. It's a great way to avoid negative comments like the unfortunate ones on this song.
Unless there's a much-thumbed-up response to a negative post ...

Must be a Trump backer, I'll try to imagine you are just a ignorant individual. RP plays a wild range of music from many cultures, and is one of the reasons I support them. Go climb back in your hole.

What is "Babel"? Never heard of it.
Cool movie from 2006. Great soundtrack. Brad Pitt. Cate Blanchette. The scene where this song appears is pretty compelling.
Me gusta cumbia!
(I liked the movie as well)
Muchas gracias RP!
This song is 99% Celso Pina and is from his album "Barrio Bravo" not Control Machete's.Celso is featured on the wacky movie "Cumbia Callera",
The beginning reminds me of David Byrne and Brian Eno's "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts."

Interesting take! The beginning made me think it was Wall of Voodoo's "Border Radio"...
Wow. No likey ethnic music equals Trump backer? I'll try to imagine you are not also just an (not "a") ignorant individual.
^calls non-Anglo music "Ethnic" while attempting to seem openminded... smh

Play nice. This is a fun, festive song for celebrations. Don't taint it with American politics. We are not the center of the world. Just let the music support your weight.

Muchas gracias RP!
Dig this!
How's the movie?
Artsy. Tedious.

FWIW I hated it. Kind of went nowhere.
How's the movie?
Which? If this is what they're playing, I want to check out their menu.
Is there any place to hide from folks so shallow they have to turn every breath into a racial confrontation? Honestly. Relax man. You can have your soapbox another day... I promise. sheesh
Ignoring is tantamount to condoning.

Dance with me.

A big plus of RP is its eclecticism, sampling across musical traditions and countries, and constantly coming up with new and fresh and refreshing music. I listen to RP to be surprised by music like this.
Well done Fred. Unless people are given some response to their limited views on this matter, there is the risk they think it is fine to do so. It is therefore worth every second of time to keep responses like this flowing when necessary.
:)

"the ethnics"?!? You're on dangerous ground with that phrase, mate. Over in the UK "ethnics" is recognised code used by racists to refer to anyone dark-skinned and/or foreign. Assuming that you're using the phrase innocently, then you still want to bear in mind that anglosaxons are a very distinct minority across the world, and are "the ethnics" for most of the world's populations.

Ooops - wrong song. Sorry, I meant "This Summer" from Maps. Horrid.
Annoying.
That is ranchero? Oh I've lived in a lie all my life.

Erm, for those of us in the Midlands Sprawl, anything from North of Sheffield counts as 'world music'. I figure that this counts as 'world music' on account of it not being anglo-saxon, and coming from Mexico, which is rather a long way away from us.
I wish Bill or Becky would sort out the diacritics in this song title...
Love it!!!!
Not that this bad, it's catchy, but it's ever so safe and comfortable...
So what do you want on RP - Einsturzende Neubaten? Harrison Birtwhistle?
Dig the glyphs in the title as well - guess Chrome/Mac needs a new font pack.

Sounds like a Mexican restaurant.

And this still deserves maybe a 5 or 6 whilst Basement Jaxx a 7 or 8. But seems proximity to Monterrey maybe is the key, or maybe 'safe and comfortable' world music are the keywords, we can pretend it's world music when it's nice and safely just down the road in CA for those in the big continent.
I remember also that Celso got real angry when a guy named Carlos Vives made it here through a song called "la gota fria", but eventually helped him to breaktrough to a wide audience, before this his music was only followed by the people familiar with the Independencia or other places slum like.

Oh well, we could go on with the numeric significance of the accordion beat, and how translated into secret Short Wave Numbers Station Code, but we shan't.
Prepare for the end, Blancos!
