I was fortunate enough to see Muddy a couple of weeks before he passed away in Madison Wi. He was ill and only played the first set but there were no boos or complaints, folks felt privileged to see him play.
COOL! You are a lucky duck! I wish I was there too. Enjoy the memories!

Unsure, but I see that one of the now 57 of them down-voted your post...
now we're all in trouble
Pinetop Perkins?
Could knowing their race make this more or less racist? Asking for a friend.
Yes, it could.
Not "wretch"; "rye-cheer", as in "within close reach." I offer an on-line "Learn to Speak Southern" class.
Yes. It's just a way of saying "right here".
That could be considered racist, according to your perspective, and not knowing your race.

Racists probably.
Same shit if the music is sung by anyone who's foreign (and not white). What is it with these people? Music is a great leveler. I don't care if you're black, or white, purple red or green. If you can sing I appreciate it. Except for Coldplay, but that's just me.

Of course everything is personal choice but remember that all modern music started from blues. Muddy Waters was one of the first guys to do electric blues so in the 1950's this was groundbreaking.
As Howie from Cortes Community Radio likes to say, "The blues is the roots, the rest is the fruits".
See what I'm saying?
yeah - now you're talkin'. Saw Mr Johnny with his bro and Climax Blues Band - Swing Auditorium ('75 I think - kinda hazy...) Definitely one of the best rockouts in history
See what I'm saying?
Not on their best day.
Is this Arcade Fire?
'Bout the same as if they called you a Mannish Boy.
Well...how does your hoochie coochie feel today?

"BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRBRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!" : )
This is one of tracks in a new documentary screening at the Toronto Film Festival – Eric Clapton: A Life in 12 Bars – in the VO EC says this had a huge influence on his love of R&B
.
(meanwhile excuse me while i backslide)
While most jazz and rock 'n' roll certainly have their roots in the blues, it seems like a bit of an overstatement to say that "all modern music started from blues". A lot of contemporary music forms (some jazz, prog, electronic, experimental, etc.) are derived from classical structures and international sources, and owe little to the blues structures.

In this case, yes—like a blue-balls moon...
That Rhino Blues Masters series was really, really good. Shame it's out of print.

It's a standard blues/jazz riff, and repetitive lyrics.
Big deal.

Muddy Waters live in 1976, dortmund Germany.
His band consists of Muddy on guitar/vocal, Bob Margolin & Luther Johnson on guitar, Calvin Jones on bass, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith on drums, Pinetop Perkins on piano and Jerry Portnoy on harmonica.
"Just Modern Music? Without Muddy there would not be, Elvis, Eric Clapton, Little Walter, Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, Zeeplins, Stones or so many other great artists. He is the Big Bang of modern Music." bluesboy25000

That's an interesting fact. Memories do pale much more often than we like to admit, and lots of incoming things don't register on every floor of our building, as we're diversely patched.
