WHY??
These old ears appreciate a fresh take on tired tracks that have been hanging around for decades. At some point you become immune to the tune after 50 years. This injects new life where it's sorely needed; doesn't diminish the originals at all, nothing ever could. With the possible exception of time, while mashing the cowardly Repeat button.
Works for me!
So how do royalties play out on a track like this?  I would think it would be something like this:

Songwriting credits: strictly Doors and Harry/Stein
Performer credits: Doors, Blondie, and also Mark Vidler (since I think he may have added drum beats).

But other than drum beats, Mark Vidler contributed nothing that would incur any additional royalties, right?  I don't think you get any money for just arranging 2 songs into one. Not even a producer credit.

Debbie Harry isn't dead.
this is horrible
could anything be worse than this? this makes me question every single non-platformed submission I , and anyone else, has ever had rejected
Why would anyone do this to such a great song?
Yes! Yes! Yes!
No No No No!

..and after a while it went from a 5 to a friendly 6....

Same here, I  Agree!  This is the 1st that I have heard it I gave it an EIGHT!

Well, I wouldn't have thought of combining those two songs. Probably would have been best if he hadn't either.

I kind of like these cheesy mashups. The groove is cool.
7 -> 8
WTF happened ??
Most excellent
Party on dudes
My favourite is the backing vocals of Jim, half way through (and during the hip hop 'singing')... and I am pretty sure it's the sound he's making while rolling in his grave.

{#Roflol}
Horrible mashup, kill it then bury it deep.
WTF Jive Bunny on drugs!!!!

Please show us on the doll where the song hurt you...

Do they have licence to steal someone else’s work and claim whatever royalties it generates?
Brilliant mash up.  Love this version and I normally hate stuff like this but it's cranked when I hear it.  Thanks RP!
Not far from a « crime de lèse-majesté » 😬

Could not disagree more.  Someone noticed similarities between these two mega-hits and mashed them together.  I'm dancing while voting it 9.

There are 2 "all-time greats" about this song.   Morrison's voice and the Rapture bass line.   Get's a 5 just because of those.
I think this is great!  How did Mr Vidler recognize the similarities in meter, key, and structure?  Forget the venom below.

(And I keep thinking about the baby that could have  been produced by Debbie Harry and Jim Morrison ... blows my mind!)
Not my cup of tea, sorry
First time I've ever rated a song a 1, this just strikes me a bad idea from the get.
It's not terribly good, this.
Perverse pleasure: reading comments from all the haters, writhing in their agony.

I give the use of 'vomitrocius' in a sentence an '8'
Interesting how it's Rapture and Riders On The Storm, almost as if they were right next to each other in an alphabetical music catalog.  If I were him I'd do a mashup of songs starting with A, B, C, D, etc.

The beginning messes with my head every time!
Jim is now rolling over in his grave, and Debra likely wishes the master for this was with him.

No idea what to think of this - detest it? love it? Maybe it needs to be heard another hundred times... Some music you start out loathing ends up being your favourite eventually... I'm still perplexed. But thank you for playing some challenging music - that's part of the joy of listening here :-)
Lol I remember that story about Pete Seeger trying to take an axe to the power cables when Dylan went electric at a festival (Newport Jazz?).

This song seems to bring out similar emotions!
I love a good mash-up! It's its own art form.
Who the hell is this twat Vidler and what has he got against the Doors ?
When this started up I thought it was Blondie but then Jim...sacrilege! But then I started to tap my feet...dam I kinda like this...not bad at all
Debbie Harry trying to rap is a crime against humanity.
Bit of a fish-mash but its catchy. I am not sure if I want to give it a score 😀
This is kind of a weird mash-up, and I'm pretty doggone tired of the original by The Doors, but this is quite entertaining. I like it! :)

I'm gonna say Chic - Good Times,  also used in Rapper's Delight

was excited to hear Blondie but hated "riders on the storm" - not a huge fan of the Doors (Jim Morrison loved himself a little too much) - admit the mix is ok but give me Rapture any day
Oh dear.  I'm not sure if my mind is ever going to be open enough for this one.  Though the parts with the Blondie vocals are definitely the better parts of the song.
I like it.
do I like this? hmmmmmm
Veeeery iinteresssstiiiing
What a missed opportunity. I would have asked Tom Jones and the Fresh Prince to do the Lyrics. Would have made it perfect.
This isn't nearly as bad as the very vocal sticks in the mud here seem to think it is
Nightmarishly bad.
Could anything be worse than this?
love it! hahahaha!
I have gotta learn this bass riff!
Oh Bill. Just...no.

Remarkable. Every time I hear this, it gets worse. It now feels like cactus spines are being shoved into my eyeballs. Mashups are parasitic "music.“. They create nothing, they drain meaning from real creativity.
Sometimes the whole is less than the sum of its parts
Kinda funky mix! Can't understand the "1"s rating.
Know there's Blondie and Doors diehard fans here, but geez...
Bleah - NOT an improvement.
Oh God! Why??
Perfect song for my elevator if I had one.

Yes! I've been waiting for this to come back on. Thanks, Bill, and don't listen to those cranky purists.

I like it too!
Qué manera de destrozar una canción. Blondie mejor sola que destrozando temas ajenos.
I find some of these mash-ups interesting. This one is just a hot mess. No thanks, I would give it a zero if that were possible.
Bleargh.  No thank you.

There's certainly no shortage of people who do this.  Many of them better than this guy.

That said, I really thought novelty songs were below RP...
I prefere the original, but this one is  funny .
Jim would vomit
“Hey! You got peanut butter on my chocolate!”
“You got chocolate in my peanut butter!”

this most excellent track reminds me of that old ad.

seems like biggest haters are also old enough to remember the ad.

We didn’t have PSD back then.
this is an abomination
this sounds familiar.  it also sounds familiar
Wonderfully smooth mix of two classics with great music and bad lyrics. :-)

Been listening to it for 15 years and hasn't got old yet. Solid 9.
I wish clubs were still open so I could dance to this!  Guess the home office will have to double up as a dance hall...
If you like this kind of stuff, definitely check out Girl Talk.
I'm sorry but this is really well done and entertaining. Lots of hate to go around for this track, but honestly folks...lighten up!

I can't decide if I hate this or love it, but I am sure that Jim is rolling in his grave, or rolling a doob in Vegas ... wherever he is
No. A solid 1.
Vidler doesn’t play any instruments, and God only knows if he can actually read or write music. Calling him an “artist” is an insult to every real musician I know.
One of the worst covers I have ever heard in my life. I love a good cover too, but this lacks any of the raw energy, sex and lust from the Doors song or any other song. Sounds like a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY bad mix of 80s/90s early RAP and HIP HOP.
DJ Mojo Risin has always been my favourite!

DJ Mojo Risin
Covers are always cool!  This one is Da Bomb, if I may be so crude.  I vote 9!  It has a great beat and you can dance to it!

The Man  from Mars is eating cars and is obviously a Rider on the Storm.  Bummer that it's only a single (according to Wikipedia.)
Very clever!
If Zaphod Beeblebrox had two heads - oh, he did!  Good egg
O PLEASE why not?  It put a smile on my face, that's all I'm looking for!
WTF?
Both songs have merits in their own right - especially The Doors but how do DJs get away with these abominations?
For the love of music... please... I beg you... never play this abomination again.
In the words of Nancy Reagan, just say no...
I don't enjoy this any more than I enjoy Jive Bunny.  PSD.
I can’t say I’m at all surprised that this track gets the love/hate rating distribution! I thought maybe I would up my rating from 7 to 8, but as I continue to listen, I think I will let it be, and resist the temptation to say anything to the haters about their rating.  Live and let live!
Rebecca lives in my head and never selects a bad song, but holy crap, what is this fresh hell? that is a terrible remix.
I agree with all of you.  Completely and whole heartedly.  I hated Man From Mars when it first came out because it was the first taste of rap I had ever heard.  I don't hate it so bad anymore.

Yeah, it's a gentle toe-tapper, but I am not a fan of Frankenstein music. It's cheating.
