Oh, Lilly likes Beatles songs
The words are off, but they don't feel that wrong
She came in through the bedroom window like a blue girl
Like a blue girl, like a blue girl
No, never has she tried too hard
Lord, her whispered words could mend broken hearts
Her sundress shines through a hurricane
Making all boys squeal like swine before pearls
Hey, Little Lilly,
Don't believe everything you see
Hey, Little Lilly,
Don't believe everything you see
'Round and 'round and 'round she goes
Like a sweetheart's ??? at the movie show
Lilly leans back in the very last row
The lights go low, and the show goes on
Even schoolgirls like her way
Oh, marry the preacher, make little angels some day
Silent as a child when the first snows fall
Perfect player in anyone's own little world
Hey, Little Lilly,
Don't believe everything you see
Hey, Little Lilly,
Don't believe everything you see
'Round and 'round and 'round she goes
Like Shirley's curlies at the movie show
Lilly leans back in the very last row
And the light goes low, the show goes on
Lilly likes Beatles songs

So, were you Son #1 or Son #2? (Or Dad!)
Also funny because it's so, so far from what my dad would have said and done with his sons. I had the same reaction when my pottery teacher—a lovely woman with three teenaged daughters—revealed that she smoked pot at home "but only with my oldest daughter." My vision of doing anything like that with my parents back in the day had me on the floor.
I see as Unclehud as the brave dad. Personal bests all around!
Once upon a time, a very involved father was discussing the high school 4x400 meter relay team with his sons, who comprised two of the four relay team members ......
Son #2: "Yeah, it's funny that Billy runs faster when he's stoned."
silence for a few seconds
Dad: "Billy smokes dope?"
Son #1: "Yeah; couldn't you tell by all the Widespread Panic he listens to? Come on, Pop, that's serious stoner music."
again, silence for a few seconds
Dad: "Yeah, sure, um, of course."
Later that night, Dad buys three Widespread Panic CDs off the web.

Panic is playing in la República Dominicana on January 27th...
Widespread Panic believes that art education, and in particular music education, is integral to the overall education and advancement of children. Art allows for personal expression, appreciation of ideas, celebration of cultural awareness, sharing emotions, and gives purpose to life. Widespread Panic agrees with research findings that art education supports more traditional academic subjects as well as being a worthy pursuit in its own right.
Pretty good tune. I would like the addition of more distorted guitar for this...but nice nonetheless.
love that PSD button
WSMFP! I'm in my happy place.
Kickin' segue.

WOW!!! Perhaps the most refined transition I've ever heard - from Knopfler's "Coyote" to this - seamless! If I knew better I'd think it was the same chord progression. Niiiice Bill!

Sounds like the unholy hellspawn of Dave Matthews and Blues Traveler. Need to wash my ears out with some Sabbath, see y'all tomorrow!

Outstanding pairing with Mark Knopfler!
In case you click on the iTunes link, this specific version does not come up. I finally figured out that the song is also listed as "Little Lily" - one L.
Interesting that this song was last played on November 15, 2010 at exactly 4:20 am.......good timing or coincidence? I love Widespread Panic.

Word. I actually rewound (you can do that on the iPhone/iPod app) and listened to the transition again. You can only just barely tell there's a transition by the fact that Knopfler's guitar drops out of the mix for a moment, and the guitar that comes back doesn't quite sound like his. Just brilliant, Bill.

Little Lilly is a great tune.
Who remembers Sonny the percussionist? Wasn't he great..greatest smile and attitude. While working the Uptown in Athens in the late 80s and early 90s (after hearing 40 monday night shows of Widespread that all bled together in maybe six or seven 15 minute songs) I always thought they only needed one 3 minute melodious hit per year to get them on the radio. But hey, who needs melody hits when you are packing out live shows every week and enjoy touring forever.
Another piece of Trivia -- who replaced Widespread's Monday night Uptown gigs...? Indigo Girls.
Cool bass line, not flashy, but it encourages a...here it is again...solid groove. Haha, for all the bassist's or drumers listening.
Still love me some WSP. So smooove.
