This album is really cool... It makes this GenX heart groove. I love that Flea not only plays all the bass parts (duh) but the Trumpet parts as well. Oddly this is one of the weaker songs on the album. IMHO.
What truly kills me is that Hillel Slovak talked Flea, a jazz trumpet player, into learning the Bass for a new band he and their fellow Fairfax HS student Anthony Kiedis were forming: RHCP.
Now Flea is considered one of the best bassists of all time.

Radiohead meets... jazz. Radiojazz.
Very cool!
Terry Gross (All Things Considered) interviewed Flea yesterday (4/28/26) and I really liked it. Flea explained his upbringing and why this is a jazz record. Highly recommend it.
Cool... This funky, groovy jam started out making me think it might be something by Ruben Blades... ~Dig...
Check out Flea's Silverlake Conservatory of Music in LA. He's a good guy...

I’m not normally much of a RHCP fan, but Flea’s new stuff is intriguing. Talented guy.

The whole or just a part of it
Call us when you're sick of it
Other people's prejudice
Can you spot the difference?
Choose the squares where you see traffic lights
And how will we live
How will we live
Past the traffic lights (hm-mm)
In the upside down?
In the upside down
And how will we live
Oh-ooh
In the upside down?
On a scale of one to ten
How is this experience?
And can you spot the idiot
Throwing until something sticks?
Choose the squares where you see traffic lights (ah)
How can we live inside the upside down?
How will we live inside the upside down?
The whole or just a part of it
Call us when you're sick of it
Other people's prejudice
