This is shite...
Some people just don't know when to quit.
Sometimes, I would like an option to skip a song that has a personal rating of less than 4, and in my opinion, this song deserves a solid 1...
Never turned down the volume so fast in my life.
Perhaps it grows on you...

You certainly got your wish.
why!!
Y'all are crazy, man! This is a rock solid 9. Oh then it gets iffy. 7. Oh then it pops back up a notch. 8.

Edit: "I always inflict a certain amount of boundary-pushing" lol William gets it.

Segue into Kneecap would really twist the knife.

I don’t get the Gorillaz hate on this site / among RP listeners. So far, anything from this upcoming album (The Mountain) scores no better than a 5 … while ancient ditties from 60s artists are regularly heralded as Outstanding or better. Yet you’d be hard pressed to find a more topical song for our times than “The Happy Dictator” — a tune which also has a lot of pop complexity and a great beat.

I mean, I get the “test of time” factor, but sometimes listeners here strike me as being OLD, at least at heart — musically stodgy and set in their listening ways, Which is exactly apposite to the entire RP ethos. 🤷🏻🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏻
Except for the rapping in Spanish, this song pushes decades-old themes of violence and guns. “This stretched boundaries”, William? How? I just hear the same old tired empty posturing. Fail.
Not good
Album art, Spaceport Convention : )

Surprised that I'm actually enjoying this more than I thought I would.

Back to the art, it reminds me of something my then three-year old kid once told me. I was doing the dishes and we were chatting. He said, out of the blue, "god must have many arms" (we're not a particularly religious family) so I asked him why he was saying that and eventually he explained that if humans were puppets compared to god, he must have many arms to move us all. For a laugh, I recommend trying to explain free will to three-year old while doing the dishes... Nothing broken, but I must have missed a few spots.

LLRP
why?
It’s a trip, it’s got a funky beat, and I can really bug out to it.
Does it ever end?
What's the music theory opposite of cut time? That was the most interesting place in this song for me. Really got intense there and I loved it. The rest seems duller by comparison.
Likely one of the lowest rated songs that continues to receive rather regular play...
My first 1! This is awful. Normally I like a lot of music on RP, and there is little I hate enough to rank at 1.
unala belala melala lune belokunelo bunelo melo dunelo!
We really need an auto-skip feature for personal low ratings.
Often listen music with our hands full, so why bother manually clicking every time?
At the same time, I'm personally happy to hear a new tune, even if I rate it low, but for some things, once is enough.
That wandered through a surprising number of styles and moods.

Literally the place for comments. Not just bland platitudes, but also criticisms. If we only celebrate and never question, we lose what makes RP special, its diversity of thought. Surprise and entertainment are great; but they’re richer when we’re allowed to respond honestly. Criticism isn’t negativity - it’s engagement. If something doesn’t tickle one's musical tastebuds, saying so isn’t toxic. It’s part of the dialogue.
Well that’s interesting.

That’s not always a compliment.
Thank you for pushing borders, it is challenging and I even managed to listen the song until the end. Some Gorillaz songs are soul moving, but this is not the case, I'm afraid.
Thank you for the boundary pushing the earth thanks you for your service
Brit alt pop and Latin rap don’t fly
Now now, to the haters, be happy instead for the 3 guys and/or gals who rated it a 10! They found a new favorite...

I'd like to hear this a couple more times before a final rating. Right now, I'm between 5 and 6, but 4, 7, and 8 are still possibilities.
What is with this barrage of infantile noise polluting this once fine station?
The only thing that was weird about this is that it sounded like several different songs. But then I guess that makes it special as well.
I'd like to think I'm relatively open-minded music wise, but this is just...mmmm, awful...
Ugh I thought it was Bad Bunny
