FYI: Roy Orbison's original song "Blue Bayou" is from 1961. I recommend listening to that one too preferable in the movie "Dreamcather" by Stephen King.

Love this. Reminds me of Rebekah del Rio singing Crying (Llorando) in Mulholland Drive.
Back in 1987, her decision to put out an album entirely in Spanish was considered a brave artistic choice. Today, it is unlikely a mainstream artist would get approval from the studio suits for such an endeavor, as it would trigger half the country and cause potential retribution against the studio by a former and perhaps future president's administration. 
There's an Italian version of this song, too (performed by Iva Zanicchi): "Con la voglia di te" ("With the wish of you")

Very nice. Her's has been a blessed life, hasn't it? And to think, by the benefit of our era and technology that encradles us a large swarth of humanity has been able to come along for the ride, too. Simply marvelous, ain't it?
