There's always the multiple choice alternative. I've been doing a home exchange in het Jordaan for years, my friends there are fine with the tourism. Eventually the novelty wears off and the tourist becomes a traveler, wandering into the Rijksmuseum and the Concertgebouw to have their consciousness raised in new and unexpected ways.
