Maybe this would be tolerable on something other than my tinney notebook speakers. But I doubt it.

Nice!
This song is mediocre.
The singing is terrible.
This guy should not be allowed anywhere near a microphone.

Hmmm. This album is a little dissappointing. Though I love Youth and Young Manhood.
Guitars sound alot like big country.
Based on how often this guy's voice cracks, I'd say he has about 2 years of puberty left.
It sounds like crusty, early '90s bar rock to me.

Yah...the more I hear these guys, the more I despise them. I have no idea what the appeal is.

Just can't get past the strained vocals...surely his cords won't last the next decade.

See RantnRaver's comment below yours. These guys actually have real emotion and charisma. Yeah they will most likely self destruct, but that is what we like in our rock gods right? These guys are good, and I look forward to listening to them as long as they are around.
I never really 'got' Kings Of Leon with their earlier albums, but my-oh-my is their recent album a real cracker (though there are better tracks than this one).
I love it all-in-all though, honestly... can't figure out why, but it's just so damn good.

yeah..all that...but i saw these guys at bonnaroo year before this last one...and they delivered. the vocals can be annoying..like jim james of my morning jacket...but i like them as well. both bands seem to me to be keepers of the flame, the spirit, the real essence, of rock n roll is alive here. if someone played me either one of these bands' records and told me they'd come out of 1972, i'd easily believe it. "take them over posers like pearl jam any day,"he said, grumbling from the end of the bar. "talk about annoying vocals."
I'm liking the cover art. The song's not bad either. Seems a little out of balance though.
or maybe slightly constipated?
He sounds frustrated.

I'm beginning to think I like seeing this. I totally and completely 100% disagree with the "this guy can't sing" thing... but its endlessly fascinating that I can have opinions so diametrically opposed to other (most likely intelligent) human beings. I'm growing out of thinking "what an idiot!" when I see such conflicts with my own opinion, and that can't help but be a growing experience. I'm getting in the habit of looking up people's song comments before I respond (to weed out the trolls), and there are plenty of people who are clearly reasonable, intelligent people who just aren't hearing the same things I am. It truly is interesting.
That being said, are you SURE its that bad? If you ever change your mind it'd be cool to know.
By the way, I'm not calling KOL geniuses or anything, I just think he's got a well tuned rock and roll voice. He does roll the same voice out for every song though so... I may end up sick of it. Reminds me a bit of the singer for Urge Overkill (maybe its my imagination) but higher. Or not... listening to Sister Havana now and I don't hear it so clearly as I did in my head :)
