{#Clap}
Quite a rhythm to her delivery.
Never heard her before, nice. She reminds me some of Mary McCaslin
She makes me like country music.
Speaking of Martha Scanlan, just heard a different song of hers, "Seeds of the Pine" on the Listener Review Channel.  Hope hope hoping it get's added to the playlist, because ... oooh wow do I like it.  BeSIDES sounding perfect, the lyrics knock me down:
You're a slow ride down a country mile
You're the smell of apple pie to the blind
You're the last light on a July western sky
You're the center of the watermelon
You're a sweet, sweet smile
And there's more.  Who isn't stopped in their tracks when a woman tells her secret?
I could tell you not to come in from the storm
I could tell you not to be so kind
I could tell you not to close the door
I could say I never wanted you for mine
Yessir, she fell hard alright.

That's Martha singing or is the playlist broken?
oh it is broken.

amazing song writer, she should just get someone else to sing her songs...sorry but I find her voice a little olive oily...
WHAT THE HELL?
i am so proud to see martha scanlon on radio paradise. I also used to see her with reeltime travelers..........she has a few songs that have absolutely stolen my heart..... great songwriter.........longlive the storyteller.. steelbridgefest.org
Moving from NJ to GA several years ago the local music was the hardest adjustment. This fits well with the local music, not sure if I would dislike it as much if it did not...
i thought this was ane brun... nothing really spectacular or worth having its place on the playlist...imho
Sounds like I'm there at the recording session! Would be very pleasant live. Will stand further listening well too I'm thinking.
Oldtimey. And quite nice.
So sorry I missed this. But very happy it got played!
Talented and beautiful. She was in the amazing old timey string music band The Reeltime Travelers. Sadly not longer together. Bill, play some Reeltime!

I have never heard her before, but I LIKE it, I really LIKE it! At first she struck me as a more melodic, less twangy, Stacey Earle. Nice phrasing, nice spare arrangement, and I am a sucker for anything with steel guitar.
You like steel guitar in great arrangement, try HEM.
