Without my walking stick, I'd go insane
I can't look my best I feel undressed without my cane.
Must have my walking stick 'cause it may rain
When it pours can't be outdoors without my cane.
If I ever left my house without my walking stick
Well it would be something I could never explain
Oh the thing that makes me click, on lovers lane
Would go for naught if I were caught without my cane.
Be-bop-bop-de-la-dum
Be-bop-a-da-bum
Re-bop-be-a
Rop-a-de-bop
Rump-a-de-dum
Ra-da-da-de
Re-bop-bop-la-da-dum
Re-bop-be-de-a
Rop-a-de-bum
Rop-a-de-bum
Deet-de-de-a
Ra-da-da-dum
If I ever left my house without my walking stick
Well it would be something I could never explain
Oh the thing that makes me click on lovers lane
Would go for naught if I were caught without my cane.

Not typically a fan of Redbone but when the alternative is Radiohead it's suddenly my favorite tune...
Quite possibly my favorite Leon Redbone tune of all.
I've had the distinct pleasure of seeing him live on stage twice now...
Wow, haven't heard that for decades, although it may be on some old vinyl in my garage somewhere.
I saw him doing this number (and of course others) in the late 70's? He played guitar and brought out one accompanist--a tuba player.
Never heard of Leon Redbone - had no idea he was the dancing frog! (Love that cartoon btw!)
Love it, Bill. Keep it up.
Bill, you are just amazing. What other station has this in rotation? RP is the best.
In another thread someone suggested Bill selects songs based on how wacky their covers are. I'm beginning to wonder if it's true.
Never really liked Leon. He always seemed to be affected, like some sort of caricature.
I'm glad that this song from the inimitable Leon Redbone has graduated from the LRC.
What a TRIP to hear this again, THANKS!!
Interesting. Didn't know Redbone was actually the frog from the Elmer Fudd cartoons.
There is nobody like Redbone!
